Overview

There’s something in the water down under and it goes by the name of FISHER. Paul Nicholas Fisher is an Australian tech-house producer and DJ that brings a sense of carefree energy to his performances and productions. His distinct sound can be picked out of a string of tech-house singles, as long as you follow the fish - or in this case catchy hooks and bass-bitten rolling house grooves.

Although Fisher may seem like a relatively new name on the scene, he has been honing his chops as a DJ and producer since the late 2000s. The then professional-surfer decided to make the move from Sydney to Los Angeles with his best mate and fellow surfer Leigh ‘Sedz’ Sedley. Together they moved into a little house near the beach and bought their first set of decks to perform at surf parties, eventually moving up to clubs under the name Cut Snake.

In June of 2017, Fisher released his debut single ‘Ya Kidding’ on the San Francisco-based imprint Dirtybird. It quickly took sail and received support from DJs such as Claude VonStroke, Eats Everything, Skream, Solardo, and Erick Morillo - before eventually getting played by anyone who could get their hands on it. It didn’t take long for him to follow up this electro-charged house anthem with the equally beloved ‘Stop It’, ‘Ya Didn’t’ and ‘Crowd Control’. The final of the three was Fisher’s last hoorah on Dirtybird before creating his own label, Catch and Release.

The timing couldn’t have been better because what was to come would be his biggest track yet, ‘Losing It’. This festival-conquering track was the most played tune at Tomorrowland in 2018 and went on to garner Fisher his first Grammy nomination, an ARIA nomination and a #2 spot on the Triple J Hottest 100.

Since then Fisher has put out several crowd-pleasing, floor-filling singles such as ‘You Little Beauty’ and ‘Just Feels Tight’.
