Overview

Joyhauser is a Belgian techno duo formed by Joris Cielen and Stijn Vanspauwen, known for their emotionally charged and high-impact sound that blends elements of techno, trance, and classic European rave culture. Since debuting in 2017, the pair have become one of the most respected acts in modern techno, performing at major international festivals and releasing music on some of the genre’s most recognized labels.

Hailing from Bilzen, Belgium, Joris and Stijn met in the early 2000s and began their journey by promoting local parties before developing their skills as DJs and producers. Their meticulous approach to production defined their early years, with the duo spending over a decade refining their sound before releasing their first official track. That patience culminated in “Galaxy Phase” (2018), which marked their breakthrough and earned widespread support from leading artists such as Amelie Lens, Pan-Pot, Monika Kruse, and Adam Beyer.

Joyhauser’s catalog has since expanded across respected imprints including Terminal M, Second State, and Kraftek, solidifying their reputation for producing powerful, emotionally resonant techno. Their performances have taken them to some of the most prominent stages worldwide, including Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Loveland ADE, Extrema Outdoor, Monegros Desert Festival, and Pukkelpop, among others.

In 2023, Joyhauser released their debut album In Memoro, a 12-track body of work exploring the psychological relationship between human behavior, rhythm, and emotion. The album marked a new creative chapter for the duo and served as the foundation for MEMORO, their self-curated brand encompassing a record label, live show, and international event series. MEMORO reflects their evolving vision—merging cutting-edge production, immersive visual design, and a platform for both established and emerging artists within the global techno community.

Driven by a shared interest in psychology, structure, and the connection between sound and human response, Joyhauser continues to stand out for their precision and emotional depth. Their music and performances bridge the intensity of modern techno with the introspection of classic electronic storytelling, maintaining their status as one of the genre’s most consistent and forward-thinking duos.
