Miami Music Week is just around the corner, and we’re over the moon to be partying once again with our friends Francis Mercier and Mahmut Orhan for the Deep Root Tribe party at the iconic Toe Jam Backlot on Saturday, March 23rd!

The Deep Root Tribe party is set to be an unforgettable experience for Afrohouse enthusiasts! With Francis Mercier, hailing from Haiti, at the helm, the event promises to deliver a unique blend of Afro and tribal grooves, showcasing sounds from across the globe. Mercier's influence and contributions to Afrohouse through his label have significantly impacted the genre, making this showcase a highlight for the music week.

Francis Mercier has made significant waves in the music scene with notable releases like "Sete" in collaboration with Blond:ish and "Kamili" on Diplo’s Higher Ground, showcasing his talent for blending electronic music with ethnic sounds, notably with soaring Swahili vocals from Kenyan percussionist Idd Aziz. Starting his career after being inspired by an Armin van Buuren show, Mercier has evolved from playing college parties to becoming a global sensation, performing at prestigious venues worldwide. His collaborations extend to industry giants like Diplo, Major Lazer, Black Coffee, Vintage Culture, and Keinemusik. As the founder of Deep Root Records, Mercier champions emerging artists, leveraging his experience and network to elevate new talent in the electronic music landscape.

Nitefreak, emerging from Zimbabwe as an innovative force in Afro House, has carved a niche for himself since 2009. With his self-taught skills as a DJ and Producer, he has garnered acclaim and support from industry titans and has been managed by the notable Deep Root Records. Nitefreak's music resonates on prestigious platforms, including Spinnin/Warner Records and Insomniac Records, showcasing collaborations with leading artists and earning features on high-profile playlists like mint, Black Coffee’s track IDs, and New Music Friday Dance. His tracks have attracted millions of streams, achieved top rankings on Beatport, and received recognition from celebrated acts like Tiesto, Vintage Culture, and Calvin Harris. Nitefreak’s contributions to the UFC’s official documentary for Francis Ngannou highlight his versatile talent, marking him as a significant player on the global electronic music scene and a 'Future Of Dance 2022' artist by 1001Tracklists.

Chart-topping Turkish DJ and producer Mahmut Orhan has been making waves overseas in Europe for the best part of a decade. Originating from the foothills of Bursa, he’s become a name famed for frequently scaling the peaks of dance charts across countries such as Greece, Romania, and Serbia. Orhan’s versatile productions have seen him perform at some of the world's leading music festivals, such as Exit Festival in Serbia and Untold Festival in Romania. Let’s also not forget the two shows he sold out with us at Musica and the Roof of Superior Ingredients!

Toe Jam Backlot, nestled in the Wynwood Art District, is an eclectic and vibrant event space and studio far from the ordinary. Spanning 22,000 square feet, this venue is likened to an expansive man cave, brimming with distinctive art, retro jukeboxes, and more. It offers two stages (one indoor and one outdoor), a VIP room, four bar setups (two outdoor and two indoor), as well as rooms equipped with a booming sound system.
