Ilario Alicante, Layton Giordani - Ezoo Afters
Brooklyn, New York
Overview
Italian techno titan Ilario Alicante and NYC born Layton Giordani will headline the official Electric Zoo after-party at The Room at Superior Ingredients on Sunday, September 3rd.
Ilario Alicante’s successful music career took off during the boom of underground dance music that streamed from Ibiza nightlife in 2008. His breakthrough hit, “Vacaciones En Chile,” was the proper introduction to a thriving tenure full of spectacular techno releases.
Following his initial break in 2008, Alicante joined the Cocoon family and created his Deep Moves imprint, which soon became the “it” hub for nurturing new talent, alongside hosting remixes from some of the leading names in dance music, with artists such as Nina Kraviz, Matthew Herbert, and Ryan Elliott.
For over a decade, his sound has evolved, with Alicante now dishing out a plentiful amount of percussive techno. You can hear his gritty, filtered synth work, especially through his standout track, “Rave Atlas.”
Layton Giordani has had a whirlwind career filled with hits – and it all started with a serendipitous encounter. As a teen, Giordani played at Pacha NYC at its rare teen nights, putting him in a solid spot to zero in on his craft and network with fellow techno enthusiasts. It was Pacha NYC where Giordani met Drumcode owner and techno heavyweight Adam Beyer. During their first encounter, Giordani gave Beyer his USB filled with original music – and six months later, Beyer played one of his tracks at Awakenings Festival, jump-starting the New Yorker’s career.
Under Beyer’s mentorship, Giordani moved up the ranks in the upper tier of techno. Now with the backing of Drumcode, Giordani’s sound consistently keeps listeners on their feet. Rooted in techno with a nod at emotive melodies and acidic rhythms, Giordani’s most recent work, the two-track Phantom EP, showcases his vibrant and dynamic production style perfect for the dance floor.
Join us on Sunday, September 3rd, at The Room as we dance to the thumping techno tunes from Ilario Alicante and Layton Giordani. With a capacity under 1,000, The Room is another premier destination for intimate sets. The Room perfectly pairs a high-quality sound system with minimalistic décor to create a peak atmosphere in the heart of Williamsburg.
