Overview

On December 6th, Refuge lines up a serious night for house heads as Josh Butler, Liam Palmer, Elliot Schooling, and Heidy P, take over Brooklyn’s new high-fidelity club. These three represent the next generation of house—serious lineup, high-vibrational night. Don’t sleep on it.

Josh Butler has been a reliable force in house music for over a decade. When he dropped “Got a Feeling” in 2013, it didn’t just chart—it became one of those records that lived in clubs everywhere, from festival main stages to 200-cap basements. Since then Butler has continued to deliver—steady, consistent, and always rooted in quality. He’s released on Defected, Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, Crosstown Rebels, Poker Flat, Rejected, Kaoz Theory, and of course his own label ORIGINS RCRDS, a home for purist house and smart collaborations. Behind the booth, he’s a technician—smooth, patient, and trusted by rooms that know the difference. He’s held it down at iconic spaces like DC10, Amnesia, Hi Ibiza, and Elrow in both Ibiza and NYC, as well as Glastonbury and Insomniac festivals across the U.S. Pair that touring history with support from names like Carl Cox, Dennis Ferrer, PAWSA, Michael Bibi, and Eats Everything, and it’s clear why Butler is considered one of the few modern producers with staying power. He doesn’t chase trends—he sets a tone.

Where Butler brings depth, Liam Palmer brings raw energy. One half of the UK movement Appetite, Palmer has built a reputation brick by brick—from tiny DIY rooms in Bristol to selling out Fabric, 93 Feet East, and Village Underground in London. Appetite isn’t just another party brand—it’s a community with its own orbit, built on friendship, good taste, and a genuine love for house music that doesn’t need hype to hit. Palmer’s sets move with intention—sharp drums, playful grooves, no flat spots. He doesn’t stretch records just to do it; he stacks tension and knows when to let it snap. His journey has already taken him across Europe and into iconic booths like DC10, but everything about Palmer still feels hungry—like he’s just getting started, and that’s exactly why crowds connect with him.

Joining him is Elliot Schooling, his longtime friend, co-founder, and perfect foil behind the decks. If Palmer pushes, Schooling locks—it’s a balance that gives their sets a natural rhythm. He comes from a deep digging background and brings a vinyl purist edge without ever sounding dated. His sound is warm, rolling, and built on groove—the kind of house that keeps bodies moving without ever needing to lean on big moments. With Appetite now expanded into a 7,000-capacity festival and a label built to break new artists, Schooling stands at the center of a new generation pushing the underground forward on their own terms. Brooklyn is about to feel why the UK scene treats him like one of its key voices.

Also joining the lineup is Heidy P, the Canadian-born DJ and producer whose story runs deep through global house culture. After cutting her teeth in Detroit’s scene and helping launch London’s legendary record store Phonica, she went on to host her own shows on BBC Radio 1 and create the worldwide Jackathon events—bringing together heavyweights like Richie Hawtin, Solomun, Nicolas Jaar, and Derrick Carter. She’s played to crowds of tens of thousands across Latin America, appeared at festivals such as Exit, Global Gathering, and Movement, and held residencies at Fabric in London and Watergate in Berlin.

All of this lands inside Refuge, the new high-definition dance space in East Williamsburg outfitted with a custom REX analogue sound system and towering industrial structure that feels perfectly built for long-form house sets. This isn’t a bottle-service night. It’s a proper club throwdown—three selectors who know what to do with a room, and a system built to let them do it right.
