An artist with a story like no other, bound and determined techno phenomenon NAKADIA makes her return with Gray Area on April 14th, 2024, on The Roof Superior Ingredients. Nothing short of a musical fairytale, we’re just as in awe with her sounds as we are her incredible journey.

Seephrai Mungphanklang, best known by her stage name NAKADIA, didn’t come from a musical background like many other artists, in fact quite the opposite. Born and raised in the east side of Thailand in Khon Buri, her quotadian was going to nearby lakes to collect water in buckets before school. As you can imagine just from this, she was a far cry away from anything like a music scene or form of nightlife.

After finding international friends online, she was invited to Germany and managed to garner the funds for the trip. Little did she know, this was the start of a new lease of life for the young ambition.

Her online pal took her to a club where a female techno Marusha DJ was playing. NAKADIA instantly fell in love with the energy the DJ was able to inject into the room and immediately knew that this was her calling in life.

Fresh from the buzz of that night, Nakadia took turntables home to Thailand and started shaping her craft. Unguided by other DJs and with no club scene for inspiration, she practiced relentlessly to develop her own sound, though it was only when she moved to the Thai island of Koh Samui in 2003 where she came into contact with a small electronic music scene.

DJs, promoters and bookers relished her sound and she managed to launch her career internationally within the first year as a DJ. In recent years, she’s hit just about every continent on the planet, and is now a name affixed to one of the most coveted underground brands to date - Ushuaïa Ibiza’s ANTS imprint.

With a huge portion of raw talent, fearless mixing, but most of all her incredible energy, NAKADIA’s success is purely self-made and her story should be everyone's daily dose of get-up-and-go mentality.

Joining the techno party is New York based Crossbow. The rising techno artist is known for her dynamic releases on labels such as Codex, Set About, and IAMT. She has blown away audiences worldwide, performing alongside legends like Ben Klock, Pleasurekraft, and Marco Faraone. With every release and live performance, Crossbow continues to solidify her reputation as a formidable force in music production and performance.

We're also delighted to announce the return of NYC's own DJ Medina, known for his impeccable music selection and ability to warm up the crowd like no other. Having previously shared the stage with talents such as Lilly Palmer and Julian Jeweil, Medina is the perfect precursor to what promises to be an extraordinary night.

"Another one" *DJ Khaled voice* we have added to the lineup is Katie Rex, a titan in Brooklyn's techno scene. Her journey took a pivotal turn in Chicago, diving deep into its underground house and techno veins, where she refined her signature raw, edgy techno vibe. Rex is a trailblazer, founding the BOUND event series—a fusion of techno rhythms with a celebration of sex work and a mission to forge safer spaces for those on the margins.

Rex's mark on the techno landscape is underscored by her residencies in New York City's nightlife bastions, Basement and Le Bain, alongside memorable sets at venues like Boiler Room Boston. Her prowess and unique approach have earned her spots in elite publications such as VOGUE and The New York Times, elevating her profile in the electronic music arena.

Rounding out the lineup is Brooklyn's JSMN, a Detroit native set to release her newest EP with the prestigious Brazilian techno label, Kaligo Records. JSMN has already made her mark, performing alongside renowned artists such as AIROD, T78, COYU, Lilly Palmer, Stella Bossi, Miane, and Sacha Robotti. Known for her distinctive mix of high-energy and textured sounds, she consistently maintains an irresistible groove.
