Shiba San (Throwback G-House Set)
Brooklyn, New York
Overview
After Shiba San sys the roof for an epic sunset performance, we move the party inside Superior Ingredients to take over The Room. It's not often you get the chance to see such a world-class DJ throw down two sets in a day, so stick around while this icon of house catches his second wind. When the sun goes down on August 19, he's taking it back. The G-House era of dance music was full of dark basslines, sexy beats, and hip-hop-infused dancefloor funk. While the genre continues to be a driving force (albeit under the umbrella of tech house and bass house), its early days were special, filled with hits from Amine Edge & Dance, Destructo, Wax Motif, and of course Shiba San's seminal "Okay."
Shiba San is taking the dancefloor on a journey through the grooves that defined an era that saw house music gettin gits groove back. His very special throwback set will trace the impact of one of house music's most fun and sexy subgenres. Along for the ride are Gettoblaster. Their creative evolution over the years in the industry has put them at the forefront of the underground. And while they have decades of experience between them, their recent success has been nothing short of an avalanche. In 2021, they topped the Beatport charts with "H O U S E," a slinky, sexy bop featuring the voice of Missy. It sat at #1 for seven weeks and in the top ten for over 15 weeks. They've followed up with a string of highly supported releases that have taken the boys into every realm of underground house. Heavily supported by the likes of Chris Lake, The Martinez Brothers, Claptone, and Claude VonStroke they are simply dominating with a sound that melds crispy percussion, infectious hooks, and basslines that just won't quit.
