Todd Terry, born in Brooklyn, is a Grammy Award-nominated DJ/Producer and one of the most pivotal figures in the evolution of house music, earning him the title of "godfather" of house. His journey into music took off in the 1980s, with a major breakthrough in 1988 thanks to tracks like “Party People,” “Can You Party,” and “Weekend,” which gained massive popularity in Europe, particularly in the UK. His remix of Everything But The Girl’s “Missing” remains one of his most famous works, turning the track into an international hit.
Todd also founded several record labels, including Freeze Records, which he credits for highlighting his range of styles and his history in house music. Todd continues his legacy with his release on Hot Creations, ‘This Is The Sound’, which has surpassed 12 million streams—and counting. As a resident DJ at the world’s #1 rated nightclub, Hï Ibiza, for the iconic Glitterbox brand, Todd remains at the forefront of the scene. Recently, he’s played at New World Festival, Café Mambo Ibiza, and hosted his own party, Freeze Project, at Ministry of Sound in the UK.
Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez, also made in Brooklyn, has been one of the most prolific and influential producers in modern music. His career, spanning over 20 years, has seen him masterfully blend multiple genres, earning him four Grammy nominations. He continues to be a highly sought-after producer, remixing tracks for Jill Scott, Kanye West, and Raheem DeVaughn. Kenny is best known as one half of the legendary production duo Masters at Work alongside Little Louie Vega, who he still shares the stage with today. Kenny is also a resident at the world’s #1 rated nightclub, Hï Ibiza, for the iconic Glitterbox brand, and he hosts his own parties around the globe.
The Brooklyn OG’s early exposure to music came through block parties in his Brooklyn neighborhood, where he started DJing with his partner Mike Delgado. The duo organized parties under the alias Masters at Work, which eventually caught the attention of Todd Terry—what a full-circle moment! This led to a mentorship between Todd and Kenny, with Todd lending Kenny a drum machine that sparked his drive for producing beats.
In 1990, Kenny met Little Louie Vega, and together they formed Masters at Work. Their collaboration blended Kenny's hip-hop roots with Vega's Latin and house influences, creating a standout sound that transformed the genre. Known for their remixes, they worked with artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Daft Punk, Barbara Tucker, Luther Vandross, and India, becoming staples of 1990s house music. In addition to Masters at Work, Kenny also founded his own labels, Dopewax Records and Kay-Dee Records.
This party is going to be a spectacle of house music's legacy, as two veteran OGs and pioneers, Todd Terry and Kenny Dope, return to their Brooklyn stomping grounds for their “All Night Long” party. From the early days when their careers took off to now, this event symbolizes their journey back to where it all began. It's a "then and now" show that you can’t miss—join us on the Roof of Superior Ingredients for a night that will be etched in history!
