Mix of the Week: Indian DJ Discokid in the Mixmag Lab Goa

This week, the Mixmag Lab starts the New Year off with a trip to Goa, India. From atop the Salud, Ozran Beach Indian DJ Discokid leads the Mixmag staff on a journey from breezy laidback funk to glittery disco and sultry house music.

One of India's fast-rising stars, Discokid—aka Fatema Hakim—has cemented herself as one of the country's most dynamic artists. The musician, yogi, and budding entrepreneur is a resident DJ at boutique pop-up Paradise Disco and the creative mind behind Goa's Disco Diwali.

Throughout her seven-year career, she's shared the stage with Lee Foss, Pig & Dan, Yolanda Be Cool, and Boris Brejcha. Setting the tone with her impeccable track selection and razor-sharp mixing. Her ability to brilliantly blend the classic sound of 70s and 80s dance with the low-end thump of the modern dancefloor is leading her into a monumental 2022. She will expand her Paradise Disco brand across India. And begin to make waves in the international scene.
