Alan Fitzpatrick

Achieving icon status in the techno community is no easy feat but Southampton native Alan Fitzpatrick makes it look that way. The producer has been banging out chart-toppers since 2009 and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. In his interview on the Will Clarke Podcast, he mentions being 15 and using a fake ID to get into local nightclubs which is when he first started seeing DJs play. He talks about saving up money to purchase a pair of turntables from the record shop which was the beginning of a life-long career of putting out highly acclaimed music.

Fitzpatrick signed to Drumcode, the Swedish techno label run by Adam Beyer, around 2007 under which he was regularly putting out techno bangers, in addition to releasing experimental electronica and house hits under his alias 3STRANGE. However, Fitzpatrick doesn’t just stop at producing, he is an intense propagator of the discovery and distribution of new music. He launched his own multi-faceted record label, We Are the Brave, in 2016 with the intention of shining a light on producers he thought had potential. We Are The Brave continues to sign not only up-and-comers but also well-established artists to its label. The company also produces clothing and events. In 2019, Fitzpatrick chose to take his record label to the next level by launching a smaller label under it, Apex Faction, with a focus on electronica and leftfield artists.

After over a decade of building up his reputation, Fitzpatrick has performed alongside some of the world’s biggest producers, brought the house down at hundreds of international festivals, and has managed to carve out his own personal niche within the techno genre. Fitzpatrick has reached audiences all over the world with his unique sound and ability to get an entire room moving.
