Debut: Ben Hemsley Brooklyn Performance

British producer and DJ Ben Hemsley is the latest dance floor king to headline The Roof at Superior Ingredients this season. On Friday, April 21, Hemsley brings his euphoric, retro dance vibes to Williamsburg's best rooftop rave space. Set against the dreamy Manhattan skyline, Hemsley makes his New York debut, heating up even the chilliest spring evening.

Known for his joyous blend of trance, house, and beyond, Hemsley skillfully bounces between enlivened disco and thrumming techno. His 2019 debut on Repopulate Mars, "Caress Me," showed his prowess for bouncing tech house, and 2021's "Through 2 U" proved his ability to find the sweet spot between old-school cool and modern rave revival. With the release of "Bebé Musica," a blissful melodic masterpiece, he invited the dancefloor on a trip to a late 90's Balaeric summer, arms outstretched, reaching for the lasers.

He's always searching for new boundaries to push and has proven successful at demolishing dance floors from the UK's iconic Creamfields to his 2022 run with Patrick Toppings Trick residency at DC10 Ibiza. During his 2021 live stream with Ministry of Sound, he successfully granted one of my stoner college kid wishes when he expertly mixed an iconic loop of The Doors' track "The End" with an unrelenting house beat. Then, mere moments later, he dropped in an operatic trance track sampling the Diva from The Fifth Element for good measure. Magic moments like this are the rule when Ben Hemsley is on the decks.

His growing roster of A-list fans includes Calvin Harris, Eli Brown, Michael Bibi, and Danny Howard. His upcoming spring set at Superior Ingredients is a must-see for house and trance fans.

Pulling up on support duties for Ben Hemsley are Brant Wolff and Gray Area resident LEFTI. Brant is an up-and-comer from Jersey who recently made his MMW debut. He’s got a small catalog, but every beat is a banger, including his latest, “What Makes You Dance.”

His ecclectic house beats have been released by Toolroom, Box Of Cats, and Atlantic Records. A gifted selector, his sets always are a deep dive to the back of the proverbial crates, unleashing disco house deep cuts at some of the country’s preeminent nightlife institutions, including New York’s Avant Gardner and Le Bain, Los Angeles’ Sound, and Philadelphia’s Warehouse on Watts.
