Event Recommendation
After a killer weekend takeover to kick off the summer season (at no less than four different venues) and a couple more Fridays under its belt, Defected returns to Eden Ibiza on Friday, May 20, for its fourth installment of the year. With a 100% house music policy, this night is a firm favorite with both workers and tourists, and you'll be sure to be on the dancefloor until the lights come on.
Eden Ibiza
Defected is truly remarkable because it remains one of the island's most affordable events, with early bird tickets at just €25! As one of the best parties in San Antonio, it's been penned as an island institution, and here at Gray Area, we agree! After an impressive eight seasons at Pacha, two seasons at (now-defunct) Booom!, and Eden Ibiza ever since - it's not hard to see why there are queues around the block for this Friday night fiesta.
The two-year hiatus hasn't slowed Defected down, as proven by the year's first events. With jam-packed dancefloors, lineups you could only dream of, and an inclusive atmosphere, you'll be best friends with everyone dancing around you in a matter of minutes!
"In our house, we are all equal" - Defected's motto stands strong.
The May 20 edition sees Liverpool's own Sosa behind the decks. As a rising star in the Northern city and a talented young producer, his journey into house music started at Creamfields festival, which was right on his doorstep. We're excited to see what he brings to Defected at Eden.
It's always a treat to see the founder and owner of Defected Records behind the decks, especially at Eden. The vibe he brings is truly electric; who else can bring the crowd the perfect sound than Simon Dunmore himself, one of the most respected names in the industry.
Melé will drop his eclectic mix of tribal-tinged funky house, Brazilian beats, and Chicago sounds to the Eden dancefloor. His ability to read and play to different crowds is evident through the array of stages he has headlined, from Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival to the legendary elrow in Barcelona and EDC Las Vegas.
Blair Suarez, Adam Myles, and Omar Guedar make up Mason Collective - a trio who met in college and decided to build a brand together during a discussion in the back of Sankeys Manchester. Well known for their high-energy DJ sets, they're no stranger to some of the biggest stages across the UK, playing Creamfields, Parklife, WHP, Canal Mills, and Studio 338, to name a few. Their underground parties in Manchester are renowned for each having a unique theme and dress code.
Headlining Defected at Eden on May 20 is Heidi. Former BBC Radio 1 show host and founder of global brand Jackathon, her career has gone from strength to strength since 2004. Gracing the stages of Exit and Global Gathering to the infamous cave of Fabric in London, along with residencies in Berlin, Ibiza, Manchester, and London - you can see why she's so sought after. Make sure not to miss out!
