Franky Wah
Brooklyn, New York
Overview
British producer Franky Wah has established himself in the highest echelons of dance music. He's exhibited a diverse sound that rouses emotions, moves dancefloors, and finds the sweet spot between underground credibility and commercial viability. A brilliant cross-stitching of house, techno, trance, and breakbeat, his genre-spanning work has caught the attention of legendary artists and dedicated fans alike.
The former bodybuilder and footballer began releasing music in 2017 but didn't land on the emotionally striking style he's known for now until after attending Sonus Festival in Croatia in 2018.
He told Gray Area, "I had one of those moments to a record by Bicep ("Opal" - Four Tet Remix). I remember coming back after thinking I needed to play and make music like that. It was a sign from the universe. The feeling I had on the dancefloor, I had to replicate that in my sound."
By the time he released "Get Me High" in 2019, his sound had fully crossed over from tech house to his vibrant meld of sonic flavors. It was supported by everyone from Solomun to Tale of Us, Tiesto, Nervo, and legendary progressive pioneer Sasha. Each release since has only leveled up for the dynamic producer. He boasts multiple Beatport number one hits and releases on lauded labels like Anjunadeep, Ministry of Sound, Sweat It Out, Last Night On Earth, and Bedrock Music.
Franky's long list of stellar production credits includes "The World You See," with Cristoph and Artche. Signed to Pryda Presents, the track was one of the highlights of the 2021 return to the dancefloor and could be heard blasting from festival stages the world over.
