Event Recommendation
Ibiza’s fiercest residency returns for a massive 22-week run in 2022. Glitterbox runs religiously every Sunday from May - October at Hï Ibiza. Featuring jaw-dropping production and exceptional disco and house music, Glitterbox is a joyous celebration of LGBT and club-kid culture.
On August 28, Art of Tones, Dave Lee ZR, DJ Harvey, DJ Pippi, Kiddy Smile, Smokin Jo, and The Shapeshifters grace the stage. Accompanied by dancers, drag queens, club kids, and every kind of party-goer, Glitterbox hopes to give you the experience of a lifetime.
For a while, no one really knew who Art of Tones was. After a couple of successful EP releases in the early 2000s, Ludovic Llorca stepped forward as the man behind the project. Unlike the jazzy, funk-infused music of his namesake project, Art of Tones is all disco and edgy house.
Dave Lee has performed under a slew of different monikers, most notable Jakatta and Joey Negro. His nu-disco hits like “American Dream”, “My Vision”, and “So Lonely” have earned him multiple top 40 hits over the last 35 years he’s spent behind the decks.
Previously dubbed “the Keith Richards of dance music,” DJ Harvey once said, “you can’t understand my music until you’ve had group sex on ecstasy.” His blend of house, garage, hip hop, and disco took him around the world for over three decades. In 2014 Harvey received the Outstanding Contribution Award at the DJ Awards in Ibiza in recognition of his body of work and influence within the industry.
Pippi is short for Giuseppe Nuzzo, the iconic Italian DJ of Ibiza. He’s lived on the island since the 80s and was one of the very first residents of the Pacha Group. A true steward of modern EDM, he’s played with just about every legend you can think of, Frankie Knuckles, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx, and tons more. His style on the decks varies between global house music and soulful lounge grooves.
Pierre Hache, better known by his stage names Keehdi Mizrahi and Kiddy Smile, is a French DJ, dancer, television personality, and actor. The young producer has become something of an LGBTQ icon, particularly in the underground ballroom scene from whence he came. Earlier this year, he was announced as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race France.
Smokin Jo made history when she became the first woman to win the coveted Number 1 DJ accolade by DJ Mag in 1992. 30 years later, she’s still the only female to ever hold the title. Her collaboration catalouge reads like an epic “who’s who” of the entertainment industry. Daniel Craig flew her to Prague to play a James Bond wrap party. She once opened for Grace Jones. And has played fashion shows for Alexander McQueen and Michiko Koshino.
Formerly a duo of Simon Marlin and Max Reich, The Shapeshifters is now Marlin’s solo project. The project is best known for its debut single "Lola's Theme", which went to number 1 on the UK charts in July 2004.
