Event Recommendation
Ibiza’s fiercest residency returns for a massive 22-week run in 2022. Glitterbox runs religiously every Sunday from May - October at Hï Ibiza. Featuring jaw-dropping production and exceptional disco and house music, Glitterbox is a joyous celebration of LGBT and club-kid culture.
On October 2, Glitterbox kisses the season goodbye with Bob Sinclair, Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco, Jayda G, Kiddy Smile, Krystal Klear, Melon Bomb, and Melvo Baptiste. Accompanied by dancers, drag queens, club kids, and every kind of party-goer, Glitterbox hopes to give you the experience of a lifetime.
DJ Christophe Le Fraint–better known by his performance moniker Bob Sinclar–helped to spread the sounds of French house to international fans in the late 90s. He’s now the head of French label Yellow Productions and a Grammy nominee.
Dimitri From Paris’s musical influence is rooted in 1970s funk and disco sounds. It’s from these foundations that the legendary house music producer begins his sound. He also notably incorporates movie soundtracks from the 1950s and 60s, like Breakfast at Tiffany's and La Dolce Vita, most notably in his 1996 album Sacrebleu.
The foursome behind Horse Meat Disco has become a tribe of freewheeling, disco inventors. After taking the London nightclub scene by storm in the early 2000s, they expanded into a global brand with residencies in Berlin, New York, Lisbon, and London. Their debut album, Love and Dancing, was released in 2020.
Jayda G is a London-based DJ, music producer, and environmental toxicologist. Jayda takes inspiration for her joyous take on house music from all over. In 2021, she appeared in her own mix for DJ Kicks. A combination of funk, soul, house, and disco, the mix captured the buoyant spirit of Jayda’s music and her influences.
Pierre Hache, better known by his stage names Keehdi Mizrahi and Kiddy Smile, is a French DJ, dancer, television personality, and actor. The young producer has become something of an LGBTQ icon, particularly in the underground ballroom scene from whence he came. Earlier this year, he was announced as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race France.
Dec Lennan draws from 80s boogie, electro, and new wave when performing as Krystal Klear. His melodic, neon-soaked live sets have one aim in mind: to get people to dance. The New York-based producer has also had the honor of remixing artists like Donna Summer, Blood Orange, and Sky Ferreira.
Local Ibiza collective Melon Bomb will also make an appearance. Some say their blend of disco and house “encapsulates the very spirit of the island.”
Lastly, the “voice of Glitterbox” Melvo Baptiste shares his iconic fusion of funk, soul, house, and disco. As a premier tastemaker, it’s no wonder he’s been tapped to do A&R for Glitterbox’s alma mater, Defected Records.
