5 Iconic HI-LO Tracks That Define His Techno Evolution
Since launching HI-LO in 2015, Oliver Heldens has taken the project from bass house into peak-time techno. Ahead of his Brooklyn show, we break down five iconic tracks that helped define its evolution.

HI-LO – Poseidon (2019)
Released on Heldeep Records in 2019, “Poseidon” marked one of the clearest early signs that HI-LO was moving beyond bass house and deeper into techno. Adam Beyer began playing the track that year, encouraging Heldens to send him demos and helping establish his later relationship with Drumcode.
HI-LO – Kronos (2020)
Released on Octopus Recordings in 2020, “Kronos” pushed HI-LO further into dark, peak-time techno. Heldens called it one of his favorite tracks he had made, while its title continued the Greek mythology theme heard across “Zeus,” “Athena,” and “Poseidon.”
HI-LO & Reinier Zonneveld – Saw of Olympus (2021)
“Saw of Olympus” was the first completed collaboration between HI-LO and Reinier Zonneveld. After Heldens sent him several techno demos, Zonneveld invited him into the studio, beginning a partnership that produced multiple records. Its towering saw synth gave the track its name and continued HI-LO’s mythology-inspired series.
Eli Brown & HI-LO – Feel The Energy (2024)
Released through Eli Brown’s Arcane label, “Feel The Energy” appeared alongside “Pyramid Rave” on the pair’s two-track collaborative EP. Deep bass, melodic synths, and a commanding vocal brought together the tension of HI-LO’s productions with the direct club impact of Eli Brown’s music.
HI-LO – NYC TO AMSTERDAM (2025)
Released on Drumcode, “NYC TO AMSTERDAM” connects New York house influences with the driving techno associated with Amsterdam. Credited to both HI-LO and Oliver Heldens, the track brings his two musical worlds together while providing the perfect selection ahead of his open-air Brooklyn set beneath the K Bridge.
