Shimza [Extended Set]

Shimza, South Africa’s afro tech star, returns to the Roof of Superior Ingredients for a night you won't forget. Known as the "Effect Master" and "Vinyl Assassin," Shimza has amazed audiences globally with his skillful mixes and unique afro-tech sound.

Shimza, whose real name is Ashley Raphala, started his music journey at fifteen in Tembisa, supported by his family. His rise to fame includes winning high-profile DJ competitions and hosting the One Man Show, an annual event that raises funds for underprivileged children and showcases top South African artists like AKA, Cassper Nyovest, and Black Coffee.

In 2013, Shimza joined Soulistic Music, sharing the label with international artists such as Black Coffee. His album "Shimuzic" and hits like ‘African Woman’ and ‘Akulalwa’ have solidified his place in South Africa’s music scene. He has performed in major cities worldwide, including New York, London, Paris, and Ibiza, where his debut at Destino’s Closing Party received high acclaim.

A standout moment in Shimza's career was his live stream set from Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This performance showcased his ability to blend music with cultural significance. His residency at Privilege in Ibiza further established his international presence.

Playing direct support for Shimza is the one and only Lohrasp Kansara. Lohrasp Kansara, an international DJ and producer born in Geneva and based in New York City, has performed over 6,000 shows in 45 countries.

He has played at some of the world's most renowned nightclubs and venues, including Illuzion in Phuket, Paradise Club in New York, Madison Square Garden, Ultra Europe, and LOD in Nepal. Lohrasp has also shared the stage with top DJs like Kaskade, Afrojack, MORTEN, Erick Morillo, Pablo Fierro, and many more.

Joining the party is Michael Anthony, a talented Italian American DJ/Producer from New York City, whose work has been featured on major labels such as Sony Music, Hexagon, deepvisionz, Sirup Music, and PinkStar Black. This year, Michael has kept his momentum, performing at NYC's VIRGO and headlining the Deep Root Records summer closing party. Michael Anthony is set to bring his signature sound as a supporting act for this event, ensuring an unforgettable night.
