Award-winning Scottish artist Ewan McVicar is coming in hot for his New York headlining Debut on The Roof at Superior Ingredients on March 31st. Joining him, hot off of her Miami Music Week performance at the sold-out elrow Rowlympic Games spectacular, is Spanish tech house phenom Tini Gessler dropping a special sunset performance. So get your dancing shoes on and prepare for a special day on the rooftop, where feelings of awe and excitement stir beneath the venue's retractable glass roof and giant disco ball, illuminating the dancefloor amidst a panoramic view of the urban jungle. The city lights that dance across the Manhattan skyline, paired with Ewan McVicar and Tini dropping heat on the decks, is an unmissable experience.
McVicar debuted on Patrick Topping's Trick imprint in 2020 with his 90s UK rave-inspired Street Rave EP. However, he broke through in 2021 when he released his #1 weapon, "Tell Me Something Good." The addictive Chaka Khan sample brilliantly fused with dusty minor stabs, a bouncy bassline, and riveting builds bared through the speakers of Ibiza's DC-10 all summer of 2021. Remarkably it also spent a staggering eight months in the Beatport Top 10. He's since followed up with dime tracks like "El Bombo" on Higher Ground and his recent dark minimal rework of "I See You Baby" by Groove Armada.
After dedicating almost a decade of hard work and persistence to the craft, Ewan McVicar is living proof of unwavering determination. He didn't master the art of producing catchy beats for a groove-thirsty crowd overnight. He spent years balancing a nine-to-five, attending the University of West Scotland, and sitting in the studio from seven at night to one in the morning. He spent weekends spinning at local bars in his hometown Ayr, Scotland, the golden beach attraction. Yet, Ewan knew he wanted something else, despite the standard regimen for a young adult. And after receiving a degree in teaching, he left the dry-erase markers and whiteboards behind to pursue his dreams.
In hindsight, he is teaching other goal-driven artists, showing them that the sky's the limit and anything can be achieved with patience, passion, and perseverance.
On direct support duties is rising talent, Tini Gessler. The longtime elrow resident is quickly making her presence known on the global scene with recent performances at Club Space Miami, ARC Music Festival, and Mia Tulum. After storming funky tech releases on Rawthentic and Toolroom, Tini made her Drumcode debut with "Nothing Expected," a fevered acid-tinged bomb that brings just the right dose of rave to the club.
Ewan and Tini are both sources of inspiration we'll celebrate at Brooklyn's hub of evolving house music wizards, Superior Ingredients. Pencil it into your calendars and prepare for a night filled with unforgettable views and irresistible grooves.
