Ewan Mcvicar, the talented trailblazer taking the dance music scene by storm, is set to host the first ever electronic music festival in his hometown of Ayr in Scotland at the end of this month, Saturday April 29.

Bringing to you Pavilion Festival, this is a massive moment for both the exciting artist and his hometown alike. If we were to go back a couple of years, Ewan could only have dreamed of such an occurrence.

Ewan said: ‘For years I walked down the beach to the Low Green in Ayr & always thought this would be an iconic site for a festival. I was asked by managers & agents what my ambitions were and my Madison Square Garden was to make this dream a reality. Now I get to come back hame tae Ayr for the first time in 4 years to play in my hometown and bring a festival to a legendary location & cement the first ever Electronic Music Festival in Ayr, hopefully, for years to come.’

Ewan, who grew up in Kincaidston, Ayr, has quickly become one of the most recognised names in British dance music. The last year has seen the energetic prodigy play a string of high profile festivals and clubs, which have included the likes of DC-10 Ibiza, Glastonbury, Parklife and Creamfields, a tour of Australia and New Zealand, and not forgetting his very own Gray Area debut in New York last month.

In between DJ’ing Ewan has hosted a BBC Radio 1 residency, released a collection of dancefloor ready bangers including his smash hit Tell Me Something Good, and most recently scooped the Sub Club/Ballantines Electronic Music award at the Scottish Music Awards.

Now bringing it back to his authentic beginnings, Ewan will take over the Low Green in his hometown of Ayr for a dance music first.

The event will bring together a selection of the leading names in dance music, as well as up and coming talent including the likes of Skream, Kettama, and Optimo, as well as Seren Seo, DAB J, Posthuman b2b Nightwave, and Hayley Zalassi.

Ewan has always been very vocal about his love of Ayr, and credits its people and rich rave history for sparking his love of dance music. It has been a long time dream of his to stage a festival in his hometown.

Located 37 miles south west of Glasgow, Ayr Pavilion was regarded as Scotland’s ‘Rave Mecca’ in the 90’s, with it playing host to the legendary STREETrave All Dayer events, which saw avid ravers travel from up and down the country to attend. STREETrave has also been a huge inspiration and driving force in making Pavilion Festival a reality.

This is just a start of what's going to be a career full of triumphant moments, as Ewan has yet again proved that he really is a force to be reckoned with.
