Franky Wah

Franky Wah makes his highly-anticipated return to Superior Ingredients in Brooklyn on December 9 for an extended five-hour set. The eclectic producer's wide-ranging catalog of euphoric melodic house, techno, and breakbeat is the perfect soundtrack for the intimate and iconic space at 74 Wythe, where legendary nights have been going down for years.

Wah has seen a swift rise to global acclaim, with an impressive list of collaborators and supporters of his tunes. This who's-who of OG UK DJs includes Carl Cox, Sasha, and Pete Tong. In 2021, he collaborated with Cox on "We Are One," a dreamy ode to the magic of the dancefloor featuring touching spoken word samples from the iconic DJ and producer. Cox then tapped Wah in 2022 for the techno banger "See the Sun Rising."

After two years of putting out tunes and finding his sound, Wah struck gold with 2019's "Get Me High." The energetic house heater was supported by a wide range of massive DJs including Tale Of Us, Solomun, Tiësto, NERVO, Annie Mac, and Sasha. The latter let Wah know "Get Me High" had become a staple of his sets, so much so that he'd build his sets out around it. This led to Sasha and Wah pairing up on the 2020 EP Haunted, comprising four killer songs including the heavy-hitting title track.

"For anyone aspiring to climb that ladder… I'm from a village with 800 people. There's no scene," Wah told Gray Area in 2021. "Anything is possible. [Sasha] is an icon. To work with him, it was so career and life-affirming for me. Am I really at this level where I'm worthy of working with this kind of artist?"

Wah fell in love with trance at age 11, analyzing the bars in each song to better understand why it made him feel the way it did. Born to a long line of farmers, the "I Swear" producer succeeded as a competitive bodybuilder before deciding to try his hand at production. Playing the main stage at British festival Creamfields in 2019 sealed the deal, leaving him with deep satisfaction his other pursuits never offered.

He's since played at major clubs and festivals worldwide, including legendary White Isle venues like Amnesia, Hï Ibiza, Eden Ibiza, Ushuaïa Ibiza, and others all around the UK. And for good reason—his sets a driving, euphoric, and filled with that same passion he felt hearing his first club track as a kid.
