SIDEPIECE w. Eskuche and Mari

The story of SIDEPIECE should be a case study in modern-day classroom textbooks, as it really is one of the most successful disk jockey chronicles of all time. Born in just 2019, the DJ act is the brainchild of individual artists Party Favor and Nitti Gritti.

What was meant to start out as a spontaneous side hustle, has grown into a mammoth powerhouse and a name recognized globally within dance music.

The two producers first linked via DM in 2019 to share track ideas. Sensing their musical chemistry, they jumped on Facetime. By the end of the call, they’d registered the @youasidepiece social handles and their own figurative side piece had been born.

Turning four this year, the act has already racked up some of the most prestigious awards in dance music, being nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording in 2021, as well as having the #1 most supported dance record in the world in 2020, and achieving platinum and gold certifications in a dozen countries for their breakout hit “On My Mind.”

A flurry of hit singles have since followed each year, with SIDEPIECE carving out a signature sound rooted in catchy vocals – “the most important element,” says Ragland – and the ever-enticing 4x4 house groove. Spanning tech house, bass house and beyond, their tracks are certified party-starters with nods at pop culture and serious sex appeal.

Both highly-esteemed producers in their own right, both entities come from the bass and trap worlds, having both collaborated with the world’s hottest rappers from Gucci Mane, ASAP Ferg, Bad Bunny and more. Now under their SIDEPIECE alias and close to a billion streams under their belt, they’ve collaborated with the likes of Diplo and Lee Foss, have released official remixes for John Summit, and even Lil Wayne.

It seems that the duo haven't had a day off since their inception, with 2023 most certainly their most successful year yet. After three sold-out tours during the summer, which saw them tear up EDC Las Vegas and London's Printworks, among other landmark performances, they ended the year with on a high with their coined "Home Run" tour.

From October to December, all of Miami, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Chicago and other major cities were covered, drawing in crowds in their thousands at each one. The stats do the talking with SIDEPIECE...

Joining the SIDEPIECE duo is Miami-based Eskuche. Since his debut a decade ago, Eskuche has played in some of the world's most beloved house music havens, including Miami, New York, Chicago, and Ibiza.

His music has received support from house music icons such as Four Tet, Jamie Jones, Green Velvet, Marco Carola, Roger Sanchez, and Gorgon City. Subsequent releases on labels like Repopulate Mars, Nervous, and Hot Creations have had his name buzzing and roaring in the world of music. He also led Green Velvet's Relief Records tour.

Eskuche has led international festivals and clubs, including elrow, Electric Zoo Festival, Paradise NYC, Kolour Festival in Thailand, Ubbi Dubbi, Ministry of Sound, Exchange LA, The Brooklyn Mirage, and Space Miami. His sound truly catalyzed in Ibiza, leading to the creation of his breakthrough hit “Concentrate” on Green Velvet’s Relief Records and a lasting relationship with the green-mohawked legend.
