The striking, geometric artwork on Héctor Oaks’ album Fuego Universal wasn’t chosen at random — it comes from one of Spain’s most recognizable contemporary artists, Okuda San Miguel. This collaboration is a clear meeting point of two strong artistic visions grounded in boldness and self-expression.

Okuda, born Oscar San Miguel Erice in Santander, Spain, is known worldwide for transforming plain surfaces into colorful, surreal worlds. His style merges street art roots with abstract geometric shapes and bright color palettes, resulting in pieces that catch the eye instantly. From old factories and railways in Spain to major walls in Japan, South Africa, and the U.S., Okuda’s large-scale works leave an imprint wherever they appear.

His art often addresses questions around identity, modern life, freedom, and the tension between old traditions and the present. This mindset runs parallel to Héctor Oaks’ music. Oaks is known for his vinyl-only sets, fearless mixing style, and long, renowned marathons at places like Tbilisi’s Bassiani. He doesn’t confine himself to one sound: his sets move from hard techno to breaks, ghetto grooves, and beyond.

Fuego Universal represents one of Oaks’ most ambitious project to date, bringing together techno, pop vocals, and rap. Guests include Patrick Mason, SITA, and Madrid rappers Ergo Pro and Ill Pekeño. The record feels like a nonstop late-night warehouse session, designed to move crowds and celebrate the energy that keeps dance floors alive.

Speaking on the visual side, Oaks says: "The album artwork was done by my dear friend and contemporary artist Okuda San Miguel. Okuda and I share a mutual understanding and vision of the concept of KAOS in our creations, which Okuda has interpreted and portrayed incredibly in his designs."

The link between Okuda and Oaks runs deeper than this cover. In 2019, Okuda introduced elrows' Kaos Garden at Amnesia Ibiza, a special art-meets-music event alongside Spanish DJ Paco Osuna. The club was turned into a full-scale surreal environment inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights, merging music and visual art in unexpected ways — a concept that lines up perfectly with Oaks’ daring spirit.

Okuda’s artwork for Fuego Universal captures the album’s restless drive and influences. The spiked, polygonal portrait feels alive and intense, matching the unstoppable momentum in Oaks’ music. While many techno albums rely on minimal or dark imagery, Okuda’s work bursts forward, refusing to stay quiet or play safe.

Beyond murals and album covers, Okuda’s projects include collaborations with major brands, gallery shows around the world, and massive public installations. Whether it’s a reimagined Statue of Liberty on Desigual’s New York flagship or a colorful sculpture in Manila, Okuda’s work sparks immediate reactions.

With Fuego Universal, Héctor Oaks and Okuda show how music and visual art can come together without overthinking or diluting either side. Both artists share a love for energy, color, and direct impact. Together, they delivered an album that isn’t just heard or seen, but fully felt — the perfect match between a gutsy DJ and an artist who refuses to stay quiet.
