Shermanology (Extended Set)
Miami, Florida
Overview
Get up-close and personal with Shermanology at ATV Records. The sibling duo of Andy and Dorothy Sherman headline at the Miami venue on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Shermanology will bring their brand of soul-infused tech house to the Arts & Entertainment District.
Channeling Dutch and Caribbean roots, Shermanology cooks up a creative blend of cultures, significantly inspired by 1970s R&B courtesy of family act the Sherman Brothers. Carrying on the musical traditions of their relatives, Dorothy is the epitome of a modern soul and gospel songstress with her signature vocals. And Andy’s experience in producing and as an MC emerged via the UK garage and underground Dutch scenes.
Dubbing their brand of dance music “soultec,” Andy and Dorothy have garnered fans thanks to their breakthrough “Move Out of My Way” with Dennis Quinn in 2019. The following year they grabbed the attention of The Martinez Brothers, MK, and Jamie Jones when they dropped “Hot,” the latter signing Shermanology to his Hot Creations label.
Caribbean flavor melded with grooving tech house, punctuated by moving vocals, made their Bon Bini EP a breakthrough moment, and distilled their unique sound perfectly. Shermanology was even honored with Annie Mac’s BBC Radio One “Hottest Record in the World” title for “Boyz N Da Club,” which caught the ear of industry heavyweights such as Roger Sanchez, Diplo, Oliver Heldens, and more.
This brother-sister pair shared the studio with Eats Everything, Fisher, and Will Clark and released on Cuttin’ Headz, Higher Ground, and Rawthentic.
Join Gray Area and Third Eye Hospitality for Shermanology on July 21 at 10 p.m. as ATV Records picks up where the shuttered Electric Pickle left off. It’ll be a body-moving evening of Chicago house mixed with Andy and Dorothy’s Curaçao influences sure to keep you dancing.
