Known amongst the industry as the "Effect Master" and "Vinyl Assassin," Ashley Raphala, aka Shimza, is a leading light of the global afro tech scene. Founder of his very own Kunye Records (which means ‘together’ in Xhosa/Zulu), Shimza is not only a musical sensation but an artist admired for his charitable efforts and initiatives across South Africa, as he promotes the local music scene in every corner of what he does.

Shimza's love for DJing originated from the music-filled environment he grew up in. Rarely was there a moment when music wasn't playing at his home. He was then further influenced by the youth radio station Y-FM, which launched in South Africa in 1997, in which his musical taste was shaped, leading to his determination to pursue the art of DJing.

Overcoming the challenges of learning how to DJ in the first instance, he has become an influential figure in South Africa's music landscape, as well as a teacher of the history of his country. All you gotta do is take a look at his historic live stream set from Robben Island back, a UNESCO World Heritage site back in 2020. A gig that no other DJ in the world can say they’ve come close to, and one that’ll stay ingrained in our minds forever.

We are over the moon to announce Wakyin onto the lineup. His track “Beso (Fruta Fresca)” recently went viral, catapulting the Dominican-rooted artist onto the charts. Having recently come off a tour with Gordo, and amassing almost two million Spotify listeners, Wakyin has been experiencing an incredible rise in the house music scene, and we are all here for it!
