Track of the Week: Dark and Bouncy 'Body' by Twinns & Mare
Canadian brothers TWINNS and Siberian native MARE have been collaborating on saucy house gems since 2020. But their latest offering on the Los Angeles-based Ghetto Ghetto label is some of their naughtiest dirty house yet.
Stark and moody "Body" is a dark house gem that's all thumping drums and grinding 808s. Accentuated by thick horn stabs and left-field sound design, the peak hour club jam is just the latest example of how they can twist and turn minimal elements at their will.
Identical twin brothers Kevin and Chris Delgado started their career on Deorro's Panda Funk Records in 2015. Their sound has since evolved into groovier, more club-friendly territory earning them sync deals with MTV and over 10 million streams worldwide.
MARE, too began his career in the big room realm earning support from big names like David Guetta, Afrojack, and Tchami. However, the pandemic gave him a fresh perspective on his sound, and MARE emerged with a decidedly housier sound.
