Overview

Immerse yourself in the unforgettable, stirring world of Giolì & Assia, the fiery Italian duo that has transformed the electronic music scene with their blend of techno, house, indie, and pop. On October 18th, Irving Plaza will become the energetic heart of New York as these multi-instrumentalists, singer-songwriters, DJs, and label owners take the stage as part of their Resurrection World Tour, showcasing the full spectrum of their artistic prowess. This is a night not to be missed as they bring their visionary sound and performance to one of the city's most iconic venues.

Giolì & Assia have developed the ultimate musical journey, entirely self-made - from writing and performing to producing and singing. Their profound tracks like “Stay Closer,” “Endless,” and “Blame On Me” speak volumes of their ability to navigate an industry still dominated by men, making their mark with each note and lyric. In April 2024, Giolì & Assia made a powerful return to their label with the release of their highly anticipated EP, Resurrection (Act I).

The four-track EP offers a rich and immersive listening experience, with the duo skillfully balancing light and dark elements, combining classical sophistication with a sense of modern intensity. Assia’s hypnotic vocals merge seamlessly with Giolì’s instrumental mastery, including the evocative tones of the handpan. Accompanied by stunning visual storytelling, the EP delivers a compelling fusion of sound and imagery that leaves a lasting impression.

Their six-year journey has taken them from intimate venues to massive stages like Îlesoniq Festival, Black Coffee’s residency at Hï Ibiza, Lollapalooza, and the Beatport x Miller show in Budapest. After New York, the duo will continue their tour with shows at The Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles and Melkweg in the Netherlands.

The duo's onstage synergy is palpable, with Giolì’s masterful command over instruments like the piano, cello, drums, guitar, and the distinctive handpan, paired with Assia's celestial vocals, creating an emotionally charged atmosphere that resonates with every audience member. From their early albums to the introspective "Fire Hell And Holy Water," their performances are a live, improvised journey of contrasts - from grand crescendos to moments of serene calm, encapsulating the essence of their creative spirit.

Not just content with studio recordings, Giolì & Assia's #DiesisLive video series showcases their love for performing in breathtaking locations - from volcanoes to glaciers, proving their desire to delivering music that not only sounds good but feels profound. Their latest US tour, "Resurrection," has brought them to venues across the nation, each show a sell-out event that promises an evening of soul-searching mixes, bittersweet beats, and beautiful ballads.

Joining the duo of Giolì & Assia for their Resurrection World Tour and playing direct support at Irving Plaza is JOPLYN.

JOPLYN is an independent songwriter, vocalist, and producer from Berlin, making some serious noise in the melodic house & techno scene. Her tracks have been remixed by heavyweights like Booka Shade, Damian Lazarus, MK, Adana Twins, and more. JOPLYN’s work has garnered attention from major outlets like DJ Mag, Clash Magazine, and Billboard Asia, and her music has even featured in the Netflix series We Are The Wave.

With over 270k monthly listeners and 10 million streams, JOPLYN has been featured on key Spotify playlists. She was also handpicked for Spotify's RADAR program and highlighted in their EQUAL campaign, earning a Times Square billboard spot.

Her single “Fact & Fiction/Can’t Get Enough” was named "essential tune of the week" by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, and she was chosen as one of Radio 1’s “Future Stars of 2022,” delivering a 30-minute guest mix.

In past years, JOPLYN performed nearly 60 live shows worldwide, including a residency at Hï Ibiza alongside Damian Lazarus and Black Coffee. She has shared the stage with artists like Rüfüs Du Sol, Monolink, Jan Blomqvist, and Ben Böhmer, and played venues across the globe, including Village Underground in London. Her presence for this magical show is going to be extraordinary so don’t miss out!

Irving Plaza, a historic ballroom-style venue in Manhattan's Union Square, has been a cornerstone of New York City's live music scene for decades. Originally purchased by the Polish Army Veterans of America in 1948 and initially used as a Polish-American community center, the venue transitioned into a rock music hub in 1978. It quickly became a hotspot for punk and new wave bands, hosting iconic acts such as the B-52s, Talking Heads, and the Ramones.

Over the years, Irving Plaza has undergone several transformations, including a brief period in 2007 when it was rebranded as the Fillmore New York under Live Nation’s management. However, due to popular demand, its original name was restored in 2010. The venue has since continued to host unforgettable performances, including a surprise show by Paul McCartney in 2015. With such a storied history, it’s fitting that Giolì & Assia’s performance will add to the venue's rich legacy of showcasing top-tier musical talent.

Join us on October 18th at Irving Plaza for Resurrection The World Tour, where Giolì & Assia will not only perform their soul-stirring melodies but also take you on an emotional journey that is uniquely their own. Their live show promises a seamless blend of afro house, techno, and underground sounds, all delivered with the passion and intensity that only this dynamic duo can bring.

Don’t miss your chance to experience an evening where every note, beat, and lyric will resonate long after the night ends.

This show is 18+ to party and 21+ to drink!
