Event Recommendation
The unofficial kick-off to the Ibiza summer season is back with a bang in 2022 as International Music Summit (IMS) hosts an incredible line-up set atop Unesco World Heritage Site, Dalt Vila Ibiza, on Friday, April 29. This one-of-a-kind event signals the closing of the 13th edition of the three-day summit and the much-anticipated return of a full season of music events on the island. The setting is truly stunning, an open-air event with awe-inspiring views across Ibiza Town, the Mediterranean Sea, and the 2,500-year-old former fort and protector of Ibiza. Kicking off at 5 pm on Friday 29th and pumping through until midnight, the team at IMS have blessed us with a dreamy line-up jam-packed with incredible talent from the electronic music scene. As is often seen with this signature event, artists on the bill mix major names, emerging talent, and B2B sets that we can usually only dream of! If you haven’t grabbed your ticket yet, what on earth are you waiting for?! So, what’s in store for us within the walls of Ibiza Town’s Dalt Vila? This year's headline B2B set goes to Hot Creations record label icon and Paradise founder Jamie Jones, alongside Chicago producer The Blessed Madonna. Named Mixmag’s first female DJ of the year in 2016 and holding esteemed residencies at BBC Radio One, XOYO, and Smartbar alongside the godfather of house Frankie Knuckles, The Blessed Madonna is a true dance music pioneer. Jamie Jones’ distinct sound has propelled him to his current fame and popularity. Put these two together, and who knows what could happen? You’ll have to be there to find out. Joy Orbison and Overmono (DJ) will be playing tracks back to back in the coveted sunset slot. Thirteen years into his career, Joy Orbison still lets his music do the talking with an eclectic mix of house, dubstep, jungle, and UK garage. All credit goes to his uncle Ray Keith who introduced him to the styles at a young age. After being brought up practicing piano and French horn, Ed and Tom Russell turned a complete 180 while metaphorically flipping the bird to their classical upbringing by showcasing their love of 90’s inspired rave, trance, and techno. This set is looking likely to be a wild ride! British duo Prospa and International Music Summit co-host Jaguar make up the final B2B set of the evening and will be treating us to a mix of reimagined classic dance, bass-forward house, and breaks. Hotly tipped by the links of Annie Mac, Pete Tong, and MixMag, Harvey and Gosha, the rising stars that make up Prospa, have set their pace playing at Creamfields and ADE for BBC Introducing. Not shy of the BBC Radio 1 dance scene either, Jaguar hosts her own show: BBC Introducing, showcasing the next wave of electronic music artists throughout the UK and across the world. These fantasy-inducing back-to-back performances are topped up by exciting solo sets from breakout artist of his generation, Patrick Topping, and TSHA, who was tipped as ‘one to watch’ by NME, MixMag, and DJ Mag. Sub Club resident LaLa and producer/vocalist Artche complete the bill for this truly unmissable night.
