Manda Moor has been on a serious rise these past few years, and if you’ve been paying attention to house music, you’ve definitely felt her presence. The Danish-Filipino DJ and producer has built a name for herself with percussion-forward sets, standout releases on labels like Hot Creations, Kaluki, and Tamango, and a growing reputation for doing things her own way. But what’s really set her apart is Mood Child—the label and party brand she co-founded with French DJ Sirus Hood.

Originally from France, Sirus has built a career rooted in raw, funk-laced sounds, with releases on respected labels like Armada Music, Rawthentic, and Cuttin' Headz. Applauded for his global tour schedule and residencies at venues like Sankeys Ibiza, Eden Ibiza, and Ministry of Sound London, he’s been recognized for putting on incredible sets.



Their Bandcamp project, Mood Edits, takes a different angle from the usual label output—offering limited-edition track edits that are only available for a short time before being replaced. It’s a direct response to the overload of digital availability in music today, and the series has been supported by the likes of The Martinez Brothers and Loco Dice.

In this interview, Manda and Sirus share a more personal side of their lives—on and off the stage. Manda talks about how her cultural background shows up in her music, the habits that keep her steady, and what it felt like to hear one of her early tracks played by a legend she looked up to. Sirus gets into how he works in the studio, what matters most to him when building a track, and why having a quiet space is non-negotiable. This Week’s Parties in Ibiza (September 25 - October 1)

In our Ones To Watch series, we spotlight exciting new producers who are shaking up the game and progressing dance music culture while they do it.




Roots in the Highlands

No one's doing it quite like CAIN. Born and raised in Stratherick in the Scottish Highlands, CAIN’s musical education came through traditional Gaelic rhythms. He learned how to play bagpipes as a young child and soon entered global competitions, winning his first bagpiping competition at the age of 17 – the result of relentless practice.

Real name Duncan Grant, he'd always dreamed of combining his love for electronic music with his rich Gaelic heritage. When he went to university in Edinburgh, he started learning to DJ and entered scratch competitions. “Bagpipes are one of the most complex instruments in the world to play,” he says. “So scratching came to me quite easily.”



He was a big fan of Drum & Bass and breaks, but it was only when a friend played him a mixtape by Jeff Mills that dark, dubby techno really clicked for him.

After he graduated, CAIN moved to London, where he worked in advertising, but it took up so much of his time he had no energy to enjoy making music.

So he moved back to the Highlands to create more space for his creativity and realise his ultimate dream of combining the music from his childhood and lineage with his love for electronica.

“It was difficult to work and practice bagpipes for competition 3 hours a day,” he says. “So I decided to quit competitions and focus on creating music.”




The Sound of Lineage

CAIN says he’s most inspired by the Scottish wilderness, and wants to create music that matches the aesthetic of the Highlands. So he set to work creating EPs based on this concept, all leading up to the release of his debut album Lineage, released on June 19th, 2025.

The album is percussive-driven and emotive, blurring the boundaries between experimental electronica and Celtic music from the Scottish Highlands. CAIN describes Lineage as the result of a lifelong goal to combine his passion and experience in these respective worlds, and features his family friend and fellow piper Brighde Chaimbeul on Scottish small pipes, James Mackenzie on flute, and vocals by Katie Mackenzie.

The album is unlike anything that's ever been released, full of intense rhythmic percussion, soaring melodic elements, and ethereal beauty. The album was met with acclaim from both the traditional music world and the electronic music media, which is unusual to say the least.

“When you have music that sits in both worlds, sometimes it doesn’t get attention from either side,” CAIN says. But the album was featured across a range of media, including Bandcamp and a Q&A in The Skinny, while artists like Ben UFO, Gilles Peterson, Peggy Gou, Hunee, Haai, Erol Alkan, Ame, Oneman, and Midland all played tracks from his album.

“My dream is to hear Gaelic sounds on dance floors around the world,” he says. “People often associate bagpipes with someone making a racket, and associate Gaelic music with Enya, or the Titanic,” CAIN says. “But there's so much more to the instrument and genre than that.”




Reclaiming the Bagpipes

Even though bagpipes are one of the most complex instruments in the world to play, CAIN always felt there was dismissal from the classical music world. “I’ve still got a bit of a chip on my shoulder about that,” he laughs.

But, thanks to artists like Kneecap, he's witnessing the revival of pride in Gaelic culture, and is pleased to see younger pipers readily showcasing their heritage.



“Older music forms that last hundreds of years stick around for a reason – because they’re hauntingly good,” CAIN says. “Ancient melodies are timeless, and in a world that's become increasingly homogenous with Starbucks everywhere, celebrating cultures and a sense of place is so important to me."




The Journey Continues

Coming up for the CAIN project, he plans to prepare a live set of his Lineage album using a Blair digital chanter, which works with laser sensors tuned to become super sensitive. “You can plug it in as a MIDI controller, and control any synth from it, and do a lot of live playing, but not actually through the pipes,” he says. “I’ll play Scottish small pipes into the modular and add all these extra levels of liveness and layers of sound, all constructed around the tunes of my albums.”



He also plans to collaborate with a Gaelic-Celtic artist called BAIUCA from Spain and a rapper from Uganda. On top of all that, CAIN also works full-time for the National Youth Orchestra.

“And I've got a lot of individual tracks I created that didn't fit on the album, so I’ll release those as well,” he says.

CAIN's aim is to portray the beauty and power of Highland musical traditions, and he's just at the beginning of his journey. There’s so much more to come from this boundary-pushing artist, and we can’t wait to see what he does next.

Ones to Watch: CAIN

Every island has a legend; Ibiza has Manumission. Not just a club night but a sprawling, high-camp, high-stakes piece of nightlife theatre, Manumission took the anything-goes spirit of the White Isle and bottle-rocketed it into orbit. From its ragged birth in Manchester in 1994 to its 14-summer reign at Privilege, it redefined what a party could be: part circus, part rock opera, part fever dream, and wholly unforgettable.



It started small and stubborn. Brothers Andy and Mike McKay launched Manumission in Manchester’s Gay Village with a simple heresy: clubbing should be a playground for everyone - gay, straight, freak, chic - so long as you contributed to the spectacle. Early nights mixed drag, pranks, and a punk sense of mischief. When escalating local trouble made it unsustainable, the crew did what great rabble-rousers do: they took the show on the road, landing in Ibiza and moving into the Coco Loco room at Ku (soon to be Privilege). Demand exploded. Within weeks Manumission jumped from side-room curiosity to main-stage juggernaut - and never looked back.





The quartet at its core gave the party its split personality. Mike and Claire (the lovers, performers, holy agents of chaos) met the cool-headed production brains of Andy and Dawn (organisers, vision-setters, ringmasters). Together they built a universe. Mondays became a pilgrimage: 8,000, sometimes 10,000 people filing into the world’s largest club, a cathedral of steel and light with a swimming pool beneath the DJ booth and rafters tall enough to hang a dream from.



Calling Manumission a “night” misses the point. It was a narrative, a pageant, a weekly myth with a fresh chapter every season. Themes were not decoration, they were scaffolding. One summer, a noir “Murder at the Manumission Motel.” Another, a nautical fever dream, “The Good Ship Manumission,” with mermaids and pirates swinging from the ceiling. A long red curtain could drop and suddenly Privilege wasn’t a club at all but a stage where acrobats fell from heaven, dwarfs marched in formation, and a man dressed as a television interviewed the front row. You might be handed a mysterious key and spend hours searching for the lock (spoiler: there wasn’t one). At dawn, you might be given cornflakes. At any time, you could be drafted into the show.





Then there was the scandal that sealed the legend: the live sex shows by the pool, running through the late ’90s. In a scene already built on transgression, Manumission shoved the line further - explicit, brazen, impossible to ignore. It was outrageous, yes; it was also symbolic. The point wasn’t just shock. It was permission. The party’s very name means “release from slavery”: from routine, shame, rules that say dance here, don’t do that, look this way. In a culture that sells rebellion in polished bottles, Manumission’s taboo-busting delivered the genuine article…raw, risky, sometimes ridiculous, always alive.





If the club was the temple, the Manumission Motel was the backroom gospel. A short, incandescent life in 1998, it was a derelict pink-limned roadside motel reborn as a 24/7 after-hours commune. Strippers from New York, burlesque fire-breathers, novelists, rock stars, DJs who came for a night and vanished for days. Press banned, rumours rampant, a revolving door of beautiful chaos. It functioned as the party’s engine room: relationships formed, ideas pitched at 7 a.m. on a waterbed became next week’s show. Like all supernovas, it burned too hot to last, but for one summer the island’s most whispered address wasn’t a beach or a booth; it was a neon motel by a roundabout.





Musically, Manumission zigged where others zagged. It didn’t hang the night on marquee DJ lineups; the party was the headliner. Yet the biggest names passed through anyway - often unannounced - because who wouldn’t want to play to a sea of thousands beneath a flying trapeze? Big-beat heroes, house dons, electroclash provocateurs, even indie bands took the stage. The sound was Balearic in the truest sense: promiscuous with genres, allergic to purism, engineered for moments not name-checks. A euphoric hands-in-the-air classic hit differently when a drum troupe thundered through the crowd or a giant egg cracked open on stage. Music didn’t dominate the story; it scored it.



Scale made the impossible possible. Privilege wasn’t a club so much as an aircraft hangar with lasers. Manumission used every inch. Over 400 staff and performers on peak weeks. Parade buses drumming through town at sunset, luring civilians into the narrative hours before the doors opened. Stage designer royalty dreaming up sets that should have been illegal to attempt on a Monday. It was maximalism with intent: a vote for wonder over minimal cool. Where other nights offered a dance floor, Manumission offered a world.



And, of course, controversy. Police warnings. Tabloids howling. A BBC presenter famously partying so hard she missed her show. Sponsors arriving in the 2000s and the explicit dawn shows bowing out, to cries of both relief and sacrilege. Then the dramatic rupture: a bruising dispute with Privilege’s owner that literally saw chains on the doors one night, and a last stand at Amnesia before the curtain fell in 2008. It ended as it lived - messy, noisy, never boring.

So why, among Ibiza’s pantheon, including Space closings, Circoloco’s airport-hangar delirium, Amnesia’s foam, Pacha’s glamour, does Manumission sit alone on the most notorious throne?

First, permission. Manumission didn’t just allow eccentricity; it required it. It made participants out of punters. It told 10,000 strangers, “Be ridiculous with us,” and then gave them the toys, the stage, the plot.

Second, theatre. Other nights do production; Manumission did dramaturgy. A party that remembered to arc, to call back, to surprise - not with one “drop” but with dozens of cues that made your night feel authored.

Third, scale. Ideas that would be laughable in a 1,500-cap room became jaw-dropping at 10,000. A pirate ship set, a human TV, an aerial ballet and more. These read as doodles until you see them carried by a stadium’s worth of energy.

Fourth, myth. The Motel, the sex shows, the parade, the sackings, the wedding on stage, the door chained shut. Each a perfect anecdote, together a folklore. Even people who never went can tell a Manumission story. That’s cultural penetration.

Finally, timing. The ’90s were a hinge: post–acid house openness colliding with pre-smartphone mystery. Manumission exploited that sweet spot. No endless phones in the air, no algorithm washing the rough edges. The only record of the wildest thing you saw was your heart racing.

When Manumission bowed out, Ibiza pivoted. VIP ropes tightened, brand activations got slicker, production values marched upward even as the sense of danger ebbed. Great nights remained (and remain), but that lawless carnival energy and the sense that you were stepping into a sandbox where reality took the night off became rarer. Manumission’s legacy is visible everywhere from confetti-drenched mega-parties to immersive festival stages, but its soul is harder to clone. You can mimic the props; you can’t fake the permission.

In the end, “wildest” isn’t just about nudity or numbers. It’s about how far a party lets you travel from your ordinary self and how skillfully it builds a world sturdy enough to carry you there. On that measure, Manumission wasn’t just the wildest party Ibiza has seen; it was clubland’s great escape hatch, a weekly jailbreak into wonder. Mondays have never felt so free.

What Made Manumission the Wildest Party Ibiza’s Ever Seen?

The biggest city in Scotland has long been known as a hub for house and techno. Local institutions like Sub Club, La Cheetah and The Berkeley Suite have championed 4:4 rhythms and juicy basslines since the ‘90s; and Glasgow has never had a shortage of talented artists to play there. This is the birthplace of Hudson Mohawke, Optimo, Jackmaster and SOPHIE to name a few.




In the last five years, Glasgow’s experienced a cultural explosion so today, we’ll take a look at the artists, radio stations, night clubs and collectives redefining one of the UK’s most culturally vibrant and diverse cities.




Radio stations




Radio Buena Vida

Radio Buena Vida is a community radio station in the heart of Glasgow’s Southside that’s become a spiritual home for scores of artists and collectives. 



This crew hosts regular fundraisers as well as DJ and production workshops, and their café and bar means it’s become a true community space. It’s a nourishing place to be, and an integral part of Glasgow’s diverse underground.




Subcity

Subcity Radio is situated in the historic University of Glasgow. It’s a non-profit, volunteer-run freeform radio station and arts collective that might be older than you. Founded in 1995, it’s one of the UK’s longest-running student radio projects with no genre restrictions. Instead, they give contributors total creative freedom while fostering a diverse mix of underground music, experimental shows, and community voices.




Clyde Built Radio

You’ll find Clyde Built Radio tucked away in a corner of Barras Market. They launched in 2020 with a mission to showcase the city’s underground and emerging music scenes, and make a space for artists, DJs, record shops, venues and other creatives to meet, build connections and reach local audiences and international listeners. This station embodies Glasgow’s DIY and grassroots energy, with a focus on inclusivity and experimentation.




Club nights




Fuse

Glasgow might be known for its house and techno scene, but Fuse aims to change all that. This crew invites bass music pioneers to play on an absolutely stacked soundsystem at Stereo, with recent guests including D&B heavyweights Mantra and MC Chickaboo, dubstep heroes Kahn & Neek and Kami-O, and tons more.



They’ve invited Goth-Trad, Commodo and Ila Brugal to celebrate Stereo’s 9th birthday on September 27th, and there’s no doubt it’s going to be a scorcher.




Shoot your Shot

Founded by Bonzai Bonner, Shoot Your Shot is a queer-night and party collective in Glasgow, known for their inclusive vibe and relentless energy. Shoot Your Shot residents include Bonzai Bonner, Mi$ Co$mix, Lezzer Quest and Anna Gram, a group of local DJs who embody the collective’s queer, inclusive ethos and shape its signature sound across house, disco, techno and left-field electronic music.




Spinnin’ on the Spectrum

This vibesy, warm and inclusive club night was launched in 2025 by Sandy Maclarty who DJs under the name The Sandman. He created it specifically for neuro-divergent folk who might not feel comfortable going out by themselves or in other club settings. Sandy’s club nights focus on a range of genres, but community is just as important as the music himself. Spinnin’ on the Spectrum’s next party is on 8th November at Stereo, and after the success of the last few events, you won’t want to miss it.



Collectives




Headset

Headset is a Scotland-based music crew and label run by DJ Skillis, known for throwing some of the best underground parties in the city. They blend heavy UK techno, bass, and experimental sounds, and have built a strong following thanks to their no-frills, high-energy nights and solid support for local talent. 

And it’s not just about the parties – the label has put out some quality releases like their 10 Years compilation, proving they’re just as serious about championing 140 talent as they are throwing unforgettable raves. Make sure to check out their new residency at The Art School, launching from September 2025.




Pony Boy

Ponyboy is a Glasgow queer club night and beauty crew launched by Reece Marshall and Dill Dowdall back in 2022. Voted one of the best club nights in the UK by Time Out in 2025, Ponyboy has shaken up Scotland’s underground with it’s part rave, part fashion show, part art project concept. 



This crew brings big energy, bold looks, and a beautiful focus on trans joy and queer expression. The nights feature wild makeup, dreamy outfits, powerful performances, and a vibe that’s equal parts chaotic and magical. But it’s more than just a party. Ponyboy has built a space where people can feel seen, celebrated, and totally free to be themselves, while documenting and uplifting queer beauty in all its forms.

FemmeDM is a Glasgow-based DJ collective run by women and nonbinary folks who’ve been making serious waves since launching in 2023. They’re all about giving underrepresented DJs a platform, especially women, queer people, and anyone outside the usual scene. You’ll catch them throwing open deck nights and bringing a mad range of sounds from garage and jungle to amapiano, trance, and bass-heavy bangers. They’re not trying to fit into any one box, and that’s kind of the point. It’s inclusive, it’s loud, it’s fun, and it’s giving space to people who deserve more of it.

Founding and Inspiration




Beauty and the Beat is one of London’s most beloved club nights, sound systems, and communities. It was founded in 2005 by Cyril Cornet, Jeremy Gilbert, and Cedric Lassonde, a group of friends with deep connections to both London and NYC’s underground.



They regularly cite David Mancuso’s iconic invite-only disco parties at The Loft as inspiration for their club night, which emerged from house party roots. The premise was simple: a custom-built, state-of-the-art, audiophile sound system, a feel-good atmosphere, and fantastic music.

For the first few months, the club night was held in a basement gallery in Waterloo, but it soon outgrew the 100-capacity venue, thanks to rave reviews in Time Out magazine and word-of-mouth recommendations.




Philosophy, Music, and Sound




Beauty and the Beat sought to create something authentic and unique in London, more akin to a legendary house party than a club night. The team has always been proudly non-commercial and independent, with their audiophile-grade sound system the crown jewel in their concept and a rarity in London clubs.



It’s not a four-point sound system as you might expect, or even a wall next to the decks; it’s a circular system, so revellers dance in the centre, totally immersed in the music. The music itself is known to be eclectic and psychedelic, designed to take dancers on a journey. DJs share a rich mix of underground disco, deep jazzy dance, funk, reggae, acid rock, electro-punk, shimmering pop, and more.




The Musical Policy

Although the night has grown in reputation, it still feels like a curated house party. The music policy is intentionally open-ended, drawing from a vast spectrum of sound, and every month, the night unfolds as a shared journey.



“Perhaps even more crucial than the music […] isn’t just what you play, but also and most importantly, how you play and present those tunes,” Cedric told Resistor Magazine in a 2021 interview.

In the same interview, Jeremy shares insight into the musical selection. “There’s probably a set of about 100 key classics and a dozen of those will be in the bag any given night,” he says. “Other than that my main strategy is to make sure there’s a decent mix of all the genres that we normally play, so I can play whatever the mood seems right for.”




The Energy

Now, Beauty and the Beat is held monthly at The Bath House (formerly known as Hackney Baths) in London. They don’t provide a guest list, and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The earlier you get to the venue, the better. The team leaves snacks on tables for people to munch on, which adds to the house party energy.

The Bath House is a unique venue. There’s a chill-out bar room in the center, where folk can sit down and catch up with friends, and down a set of stairs, you’ll find the DJ decks, the sound system, and the dance floor.



One of the most notable aspects of the sound system is how soft it is on the ears, without compromising on volume and quality. The dance area is decked out with wall hangings, plants, and ornaments, all illuminated by soft lighting. It’s a welcome relief from the hard-leaning club nights so popular in London, and a place to dance, unwind, feel free, and lose yourself in fantastic music and one of the world’s best sound systems.

“I have to say, personally, I would feel wrong about having this really expensive system at home just for my private use,” Cedric told Resistor Magazine. “This is a big motivation for the parties for me, really. I am an audiophile and I LOVE having a fantastic system at home, but I’m also a socialist and I’d feel wrong just keeping it in my living room. If we want to get mystical about it, I feel like the system came to us, but it isn’t ours to keep, only to share.”




Twenty years of Beauty and the Beat

In 2025, Beauty and the Beat is celebrating two decades of music, community, and dance. The 20th anniversary party took place on June 21st at The Bath House in Hackney, running from early evening until the early hours, with a special live set by Soundspecies.



On July 19, they hosted a countryside edition on an organic farm near Exeter in Devon under the name Garden of Life. They brought their deep-listening, dance-floor energy to a rural setting, creating a non-commercial and inclusive ecosystem in the heart of the English countryside. The rest of the year is dotted with planned parties in London on August 30, September 27, October 25, November 29, and New Year’s Eve.

Collective Spotlight: Beauty and the Beat

Sanvero, the Italian–Chilean DJ and producer duo based in New York City, have become a name to watch in the music scene. What started as playing for friends has grown into performances at major festivals like Elements and We Belong Here, as well as their Brooklyn Mirage debut a couple years ago. Their sound blends Afro and Indie House with influences from Latin America and Europe, often weaving traditional instruments into modern productions. 



With releases on Café de Anatolia, Lush Sunday, Moon Din Records, and Rhytmica, and support from Hernán Cattáneo, Guy Mantzur, Emi Galvan, and Cristoph, their tracks have reached global stages from Hï Ibiza to Warung Beach Club. In this interview, Sanvero share their inspirations, favorite tracks, and stories that show the personalities behind the music.



Who’s an artist that inspires you right now?


Tough question! There are so many good artists in the scene with such unique production, so it’s always difficult to pick. Top of mind recently are Ezequiel Arias and Kamilo Sanclemente on the more progressive side, while we love what Max Styler and the Maccabi House crew have been doing on the more indie/electro side. We also have to mention Chris Stussy and Josh Baker, as they’ve blown us away at their shows recently.

What’s a track you play when you want to get the crowd hyped?


Symphony by Eynka has been a true peak-time weapon for us this year.

What’s your go-to snack or drink before a show?


You can’t go wrong with some Welch’s Fruit Snacks.



What’s your favorite city to play in, and why?


It has to be New York — the energy is just unmatched.

How would you describe your sound in three words?


Euphoric, sexy, energetic.



If you weren’t a DJ/Producer, what would you be?


Nico actually works as a movie director/producer during the day. Cesco comes from an olive oil family in Italy, so he might’ve been a farmer.



What’s something normal to you that other people find weird?


We actually disagree about this between the two of us, so we’ve been taking to Instagram to ask our followers. Turns out everyone else is in disagreement as well. The last poll we ran asked people whether they brush their teeth before or after breakfast, and it was almost a 50/50 split.



If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?


Led Zeppelin. We’d just have to figure out a way to make it house.



If you could time travel to any era of music history, when would it be and why?


We’re a bit conflicted on this one, but probably the 70s/80s — the golden age of classic rock and the dawn of disco and electronic music.



What’s a fun fact or hidden talent that has nothing to do with music?


Nico is a CrossFit beast, while Cesco has a weirdly photographic memory — ask him the jersey number for any NFL player and he’ll remember.



What is your favorite set time and duration?


Starting during sunset and ending later at night. Some of our favorite sets have been seven-hour marathon ones. We like to play a lot of different sub-genres, and longer sets like that really give us the space to explore different sonic places.

Get set for a massive day-to-night party when Cocoon returns to 528 Ibiza on Wednesday, September 24. From 16:00 to 23:00, the party kicks off outdoors across two stages in the Benimussa Hills. This Week’s Parties in Ibiza (September 18 - 24)

If Part 1 of our guide was about the build-up - residencies signing off, September energy peaking, and early October madness - then Part 2 is about the final sprint to the finish line. These last two weeks of the Ibiza season are legendary: when clubs pull out their most ambitious lineups, DJs play marathon sets, and the atmosphere mixes euphoria with bittersweet goodbyes.



Ibiza never goes quietly. The island saves some of its biggest surprises, longest sessions, and most emotional moments for the very end. From marathon techno at Amnesia to Pacha’s dual grand closing, from The Trilogy’s festival-scale finale to Circoloco’s Monday madness, here’s how Ibiza 2025 says farewell.


Amnesia - The Marathon Closing Festival





When you talk about Ibiza closings, Amnesia is always at the heart of the conversation. This year, the club is doubling down on its reputation with a two-day Amnesia Closing Festival on October 10 and 11.



Described as “two intense days where music and energy speak louder than ever – night & day, day & night”, the festival is essentially a 48-hour love letter to house and techno. The first wave of the lineup already reads like a who’s who of electronic royalty: Amelie Lens, Nina Kraviz, Honey Dijon, Deborah De Luca, Marco Faraone, Joris Voorn, East End Dubs, Andres Campo, and many more. And as always with Amnesia, you can expect surprise guests added last minute.



What makes this so iconic isn’t just the names, but the setting. The Main Room delivers pounding techno until your bones rattle, while the Terrace is where magic really happens. There’s nothing like that sunrise moment, when daylight pours in, and thousands of tired-yet-blissful ravers cheer in unison. For many, this is the single most unforgettable experience of Ibiza closings.



Amnesia’s Closing Festival is for the hardcore: prepare for long hours, multiple dance floors, and the kind of stamina-testing session that proves why Ibiza is the world capital of electronic music.



Pacha - A Grand Finale in Two Parts





Pacha Ibiza is wrapping up its season with not one, but two nights of grand closing celebrations. It’s a fitting end for the island’s oldest superclub, which continues to balance its glamorous legacy with forward-thinking bookings.



First up is Grand Closing Part 1 on Saturday, Oct 11, headlined by Australian giants Rüfüs Du Sol, who will be delivering a special DJ set. Known for their emotive live shows, this format lets them dive deep into their influences - melodic house, indie electronica, and festival-ready anthems - all reimagined for the Pacha dancefloor. It’s set to be a goosebumps night, bridging the line between euphoric and intimate.



Then comes Grand Closing Part 2 on Sunday, Oct 12, with house icon Roger Sanchez returning to the booth. A true Pacha favorite, Roger has been part of the island’s story for decades, and his extended house set is the perfect nod to the club’s roots. Adding balance to the bill, techno powerhouse Paco Osuna joins in, creating a crossover of soulful house and driving underground beats.



Combined, these two nights tell the story of Pacha: one night looking forward with global superstars, and the next honoring the roots of house and the enduring power of a veteran behind the decks.



The Trilogy - Ushuaïa, Hï & UNVRS Join Forces

For the first time in Ibiza history, three of the island’s superclubs have teamed up to create a single closing weekend concept: The Trilogy. Curated by The Night League (the team behind all three venues), this is arguably the most ambitious closing experiment ever staged.

Day 1 - Oct 11 (Ushuaïa): The open-air extravaganza features Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer B2B Chris Avantgarde, Paul Kalkbrenner (live), and Franky Wah. Expect Prydz’s cinematic visuals and Kalkbrenner’s live energy under the Balearic sky.

Night 1 - Oct 11 (Hï Ibiza): Once Ushuaïa winds down, the action moves across the road. Highlights include Jamie Jones B2B Joseph Capriati, Damian Lazarus, Indira Paganotto, and TSHA. From tech-house to pounding techno to melodic bliss, this lineup covers the spectrum.

Day 2 - Oct 12 (UNVRS): The finale of the trilogy unfolds at Ibiza’s new hyperclub, UNVRS. The lineup is jaw-dropping: Anyma (live), Peggy Gou, Black Coffee, ANOTR, Rampa, and Vintage Culture. It’s the perfect mix of melodic techno, Afro-house, stylish grooves, and festival-scale performances.

Together, these three events form a two-day festival across three venues, essentially uniting Ibiza’s present and future in one closing statement. If you want to see the island making history, this is the weekend.



DC10 - Circoloco’s Last Stand





And then, there’s DC10. For many, the true end of the season isn’t the glitzy spectacle of Trilogy or the polished production of Amnesia - it’s the raw, sweaty chaos of Circoloco Closing.



On Monday, Oct 13, the infamous hangar by the airport runway hosts one of the most anticipated parties of the year. Circoloco has been running every Monday since May, bringing together a who’s who of underground house and techno: Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Peggy Gou, Amelie Lens, Dixon, and more. Its closing night is traditionally an all-day, all-night affair, kicking off in the early evening and pushing deep into Tuesday morning.



What makes Circoloco special is its no-frills philosophy. There are no pyrotechnics, no LED mega-screens, no gimmicks. Just a dark room, a packed terrace, and the best DJs in the world playing for a crowd that lives for the underground. The Circoloco closing is often emotional - it’s the last big gathering of Ibiza workers, residents, and hardcore fans, and when the final track drops, it feels like the island is collectively exhaling after five months of madness.



If Amnesia’s festival is the spectacle and Pacha’s closing is the celebration, Circoloco’s finale is the soul of Ibiza.



The End of the Season



By mid-October, the dust settles. Flights thin out, the beaches quieten, and the clubs start to shut their doors. But the energy of these closing weeks lingers long after the last track drops. Closing parties aren’t just about saying goodbye - they’re about celebrating the journey, thanking the fans, and sending everyone off into winter with enough memories to last until next summer.



And in 2025, Ibiza has outdone itself. With the introduction of UNVRS, the birth of The Trilogy, and the return of the island’s most iconic closings, this season’s finale is destined to be remembered as one of the greatest ever.



For those lucky enough to be there, savor every second. For those watching from afar, start planning: because there’s nowhere in the world like Ibiza in the closing season.

Ibiza Closing Parties (Part 2)

It’s that bittersweet time of year on the White Isle - the 2025 clubbing season is drawing to a close, but not before an explosive finale of closing parties. For the uninitiated, closing parties mark the end of a glorious summer season, bringing together clubs, DJs, and diehard clubbers for one last series of unforgettable events.



Most residencies run weekly throughout the summer, and when each one ends, it throws a closing party to bid farewell. After that, the clubs themselves host their own grand finales – often stretching across multiple days. Traditionally, most closings fall between mid-September and mid-October, effectively the island’s “last call” before attention shifts to events like ADE in Amsterdam. In 2025, the calendar is packed, and in this two-part guide we’ll highlight the unmissable events.



In Part 1, we’re focusing on key closing parties happening in September, with a blend of mainstream spectacles, underground marathons, and everything in between. Think of this as your warm-up to the huge finales coming later in October.


Hï Ibiza - Afro, Disco & Techno Heaven





Voted the world’s number one club yet again, Hï Ibiza never fails to deliver at closing time. Its residencies cover every corner of the electronic spectrum, and their finales always feel extra-special.



One of the crown jewels is Black Coffee’s Saturday night. Now in its eighth season, the South African superstar has made Afro-house the heartbeat of Ibiza. On Saturday, October 4, he plays his final set of the summer with an extended journey through deep, soulful grooves. He’ll be joined by genre-blending live act WhoMadeWho, plus support in the Club Room from Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus, who always adds a mystical, experimental edge. Expect immersive production, dazzling visuals, and one last Afro-house odyssey that feels like a rite of passage.



Glitterbox takes over on Sunday, October 5. Famous for its flamboyant performers and anthemic house and disco, this is Ibiza at its most joyful. Closing party highlights include disco pioneer Dimitri From Paris, house heroine Jayda G, Ibiza collective Melon Bomb, and plenty of special guests. It’s a night of pure positivity - one final chance to dance under the disco balls before Hï wraps up.



Hï’s other closings are equally unmissable. The Martinez Brothers finish their Tuesday residency on Sept 30, and on Oct 3, Joseph Capriati’s Metamorfosi wraps with a techno-heavy lineup - last year saw him joined by Indira Paganotto and Kobosil, and 2025 is shaping up just as strong. Together, these events make Hï’s final fortnight a non-stop showcase of electronic music’s biggest names.



Ushuaïa - EDM Titans & ANTS Takeover





Across the road, Ushuaïa Ibiza brings the big daytime energy. Known for jaw-dropping outdoor production and stadium-sized crowds, its closing parties span from EDM to underground house.



On the commercial side, heavyweights like Calvin Harris (closing Sept 12), Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (Sept 24), and Martin Garrix (Sept 25) will finish their residencies with the kind of high-octane sets fans travel across the world for. Each closing is loaded with massive hits, sing-along moments, and plenty of pyro. Armin van Buuren’s residency also signs off on Sept 28, giving trance fans their final Balearic fix under the open sky.



But the jewel in Ushuaïa’s crown is ANTS, its in-house Saturday residency. This year’s METALWORKS theme has transformed the club into a dystopian playground of robotic ants, towering steel structures, and industrial-themed production. For the ANTS closing on Oct 4, the Colony is pulling together a monster lineup of B2B sets. Andrea Oliva joins Franky Wah for a driving house showcase, Chelina Manuhutu pairs with Mason Collective, Nic Fanciulli goes B2B with Joris Voorn, and Max Dean faces off with SOSA. Add in the high-tech staging and you have one of the most visually spectacular closings on the island.



If you only do one daytime closing party this year, ANTS should be top of the list.



Amnesia - Terrace Sunrises & Closing Festival





Few clubs embody the Ibiza spirit like Amnesia. Their residency closings are stacked, but the real magic comes in October.



On Sunday, Oct 5, the club’s flagship underground night Pyramid ends its season. Pyramid is all about marathon sets and a who’s who of techno and house. Past closings have seen names like Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, and Nina Kraviz, and 2025 promises another roadblock lineup.



Then Amnesia saves the best for last with its two-day Closing Festival on Oct 10 and 11. The first wave of artists includes Amelie Lens, Nina Kraviz, Deborah De Luca, Honey Dijon, Marco Faraone, Joris Voorn, and more. It’s effectively a festival inside a club - two days, multiple rooms, and a non-stop flow of techno and house until way past sunrise. This is Amnesia at its most uncompromising, and a must for anyone who wants to experience the island’s raw, untamed energy one last time.



Pacha – Old Meets New





Over in Ibiza Town, Pacha continues to blend island heritage with forward-thinking bookings. The first week of October is stacked with back-to-back closings.



Defected signs off on Oct 2 with a lineup for true house heads: Masters At Work, Eats Everything, Low Steppa, and Sam Divine. For lovers of classic house grooves, this is as authentic as it gets.



The following days bring more variety. Flower Power closes Oct 4 with its trademark retro-disco vibe, this time boosted by Purple Disco Machine. On Oct 5, Solomun +1 reaches its finale, with Solomun playing an all-night-long set.



For fans of melodic house, CamelPhat’s final night on Oct 7 is essential, featuring a live set from techno wizard Stephan Bodzin. And Pacha’s week of closings rolls straight into Music On with Marco Carola on Oct 9–10, because who needs just one closing party? It’s a whirlwind stretch of parties that perfectly captures Pacha’s eclecticism.



DC10 - Raw & Underground





If you’re looking for pure, no-frills clubbing, DC10 is where you’ll find it. Two closings here stand out.



First up is Solid Grooves on Oct 2. Expect bass-heavy tech house from founders PAWSA and Michael Bibi’s crew, alongside friends like Dennis Cruz and ANOTR. It’s a Thursday night built for groove-hungry ravers who want to lose themselves in the warehouse atmosphere.



Then there’s the big one: Circoloco on Oct 13, one of the very last closings of the Ibiza calendar. This Monday marathon runs from early evening until deep into Tuesday morning, with an enormous lineup of underground stars. Calvin Harris Closing Party | Ushuaïa Ibiza | Friday, September 12

Friday, September 12 marks the big finale of Calvin Harris’ residency at Ushuaïa. All summer long, the global superstar has packed out the iconic open-air club, and this closing show will be no different. This Week’s Parties in Ibiza (September 11 - 17)

German brothers Leo and Rafa Schmid, known collectively as TWO LANES, have established themselves as a live act that commands attention in the electronic music world. Hailing from Germany, the duo seamlessly combines classical piano, analog synths, and minimal electronic elements to create music that is precise, layered, and engaging. Their approach is experimental yet grounded: they follow ideas wherever they lead, blending acoustic and electronic sounds without a fixed formula.



With their new EP No Feeling Is Final out and their tour already underway, TWO LANES continue to expand their sonic palette, exploring contrasts, introspection, and subtle new textures. Their live performances are dynamic and ever-changing, often featuring tracks that exist only in the moment, giving each show a unique edge. 



From casual fan interactions at airports to refining tracks like “Evoke” late in the studio, their work reflects both careful craft and openness to spontaneity. Beyond music, the brothers draw inspiration from a wide range of experiences and creative pursuits, with Rafa drawn to painting and Leo to writing, highlighting the depth behind their artistic process.



In the following interview, TWO LANES share insights into their creative approach, the making of No Feeling Is Final, and glimpses into the humor, personalities, and brotherly dynamics that shape their work.



1. Your music often balances acoustic and electronic elements. How do you decide which ideas stay organic and which become electronic?



We don’t follow a fixed formula when combining acoustic instruments with electronic elements. If something inspires us, whether it’s a piano recording or an interesting effect, we simply follow where it leads. We try not to think in categories of how a sound was created. For us, creativity always comes first, not the equipment or a predefined plan.



2. Are there particular emotions or stories you wanted to capture in No Feeling Is Final that you feel are distinct from Duality or Innervision?



We first came across the phrase No Feeling Is Final at an exhibition, and it immediately stayed with us. Later we discovered that it originates from Rainer Maria Rilke’s Go to the Limits of Your Longing, which contains the lines: “Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final.”



These words resonated deeply with us and became a guiding thread for the EP. With the EP, we tried to be more focused on contrasts and introspection. It embraces the idea that all states, whether joyful or painful, are transient and that movement and change are part of the creative process itself.



3. Performing live seems central to your process. How do you keep your shows feeling fresh for both longtime fans and new listeners?



Our live set is always changing. We love bringing in new ideas we are working on, and sometimes those tracks only exist in the live show. We like the idea that certain music can only be experienced in the moment, in the context of a concert.



4. Can you share a moment on tour—big or small—that surprised you or changed the way you think about your music?



Once, our hand luggage was pulled aside during security control at the airport, and the officer asked if we were musicians and what our band was called. While we were talking, he pulled out his phone and showed us some of our tracks he enjoys listening to. It was a really nice encounter.



5. Are there any unusual or unexpected sources of inspiration that influence your music—outside of classical or electronic genres?

It’s difficult to say how things from outside influence our music, because there is rarely a direct connection. Often it only becomes clear afterward: when listening to a finished record, memories of that time return—the place where we worked on the track, the music we were listening to, the books we were reading, or just the general mood we were in during that period of life.



6. Your June EP No Feeling Is Final introduced some new textures. Was there a track that challenged you more than the others during production?



For Evoke, we had a version pretty early on that was nearly finished. When we were wrapping up the EP, we wanted to dive back in and refine the version, which is a difficult process. Your ears are very used to that version, and every change feels intrusive. After some time, we managed to add elements the track definitely needed, like the string recording in the bridge.



7. How do you approach collaboration between the two of you when creative disagreements arise?



It depends. If we both have strong ideas we want to explore, we just try out both and see how we feel. Usually, things become clearer the next day.



8. If you weren’t making music, what kind of art or creative work do you think you’d be drawn to?



Rafa: Painting.
Leo: Writing.



9. Which of you is more likely to get lost in a city, and who’s the human GPS?



Leo is definitely the GPS of the duo.



10. If you could only use one instrument for the rest of your life, but it had to be something completely ridiculous, what would it be?



Nils Frahm once played the strings of a grand piano with toilet brushes as percussive objects. That might be something to explore.

This Week’s Parties in Ibiza (September 4-10)

Ibiza is home to some of the most famous clubs in the world, but many of its most photographed and iconic party settings exist outside the walls of the superclubs. From ruins in the hills to hippie gardens and seaside sunsets, the island has always thrived on unusual backdrops. These are the places that became legendary not just for the music but because they looked spectacular in photographs. Here are some of our favorites.



The Abandoned Festival Club: Ibiza’s Lost Superclub

In the hills near Sant Josep lies a ruin that has fascinated generations of ravers and photographers alike: Festival Club. When it opened in 1972, this sprawling amphitheater was billed as Ibiza’s first “superclub,” complete with restaurants, terraces, and mock bullfighting shows. For a brief moment, it was the future of nightlife.



But the oil crisis in 1973 devastated tourism, and within two years Festival Club was abandoned. Nature crept back, graffiti artists took over, and rave crews in the ’80s and ’90s used it for secret parties.



What makes Festival Club endure is its atmosphere. The crumbling arches daubed in neon spray paint, pine trees reclaiming the terraces, and the open sky above create a dramatic, post-apocalyptic backdrop. DJs like Maceo Plex have recorded atmospheric sets here, and countless photo shoots have turned the ruins into an unlikely cultural monument. In Ibiza’s visual story, Festival Club represents both the optimism of its early party industry and the rebelliousness of the underground.





Benimussa Park: From Zoo to Tribal Playground

Benimussa Park is perhaps Ibiza’s most surreal venue. Originally launched in the 1970s as Gala Night, a part-zoo and part-park, it was once fabled to keep seals and monkeys to entertain tourists. By the 1980s, it pivoted to outdoor events, but its defining moment came in 2007, when The Zoo Project took root.



The organizers decided to lean into the zoo theme: DJs performed inside the old seal pit, performers roamed in body paint and animal costumes, and the crowd became part of the spectacle. Photographs of ravers painted like tigers, dancing in the sun, quickly spread worldwide.



The venue’s layout added to the magic: the terraced arena, a leafy Mandala Garden for healing spaces, and hidden corners decorated with surreal art installations. It blurred the line between festival and club night, creating an atmosphere that felt tribal, immersive, and distinctly photogenic. Over more than 15 summers, The Zoo Project turned Benimussa Park into one of Ibiza’s most unforgettable and visually unique party locations.

Pikes Hotel: Rock ’n’ Roll Mythology

Few places embody the decadent mythology of Ibiza like Pikes Hotel. Founded in 1978 by Tony Pike, the finca-style hotel became a refuge for rock stars and celebrities during the island’s freewheeling 1980s. Its aquamarine pool achieved instant fame when Wham! filmed their “Club Tropicana” video there in 1983, sealing the location in pop culture history.



Then came Freddie Mercury’s 41st birthday in 1987 - a party so excessive it still defines Ibiza’s legend of indulgence. Stories of dwarfs carrying cakes, champagne flowing endlessly, and a guest list of icons became the stuff of folklore. Photographs of George Michael by the pool or Freddie’s entourage celebrating at Pikes helped spread its reputation far beyond the island.



Today, Pikes carefully preserves this rock ’n’ roll heritage. Freddie’s old suite is now a nightclub called “Freddie’s,” where the spirit of its golden era still flickers. Its kitschy interiors, mural-covered walls, and infamous poolside remain among the island’s most photographed spots (even though today it has a no-filming policy).





Dalt Vila: Dancing on Ancient Walls

Ibiza’s Old Town, Dalt Vila, is a UNESCO World Heritage site of cobblestone streets and fortress walls. For most of the year, it’s a place for quiet evening strolls and history tours. But during the International Music Summit (IMS) Finale, it transforms into one of the most breathtaking party venues in the world.



Since 2008, DJs like Pete Tong and Fatboy Slim have played against a backdrop of medieval ramparts, with panoramic views of the marina and cathedral lit up at night. The juxtaposition of cutting-edge electronic music against 16th-century stone is dramatic, and every photograph captures that sense of contrast.



Part of the magic lies in its rarity: as a protected site, Dalt Vila hosts only a handful of events each year. That exclusivity makes the IMS Finale feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and images of crowds dancing under the stars within ancient walls are some of Ibiza’s most powerful cultural exports.





The Sunset Strip: Café del Mar and Café Mambo

If Ibiza has a daily ritual, it’s the sunset at San Antonio’s Sunset Strip. Since Café del Mar opened in 1980, visitors have gathered to watch the sun melt into the Mediterranean while ambient music provides the soundtrack. When José Padilla began his sunset DJ sets in the early ’90s, it gave rise to the Café del Mar compilation albums, which sold millions and spread the Balearic sound worldwide.



In 1994, Café Mambo added a new dimension: pre-parties with international DJs and a more upbeat soundtrack. In 1995, BBC Radio 1 began broadcasting live from Mambo’s terrace, turning it into a global stage. Suddenly, images of superstar DJs framed against glowing skies and cheering crowds were beamed across the world.



The Sunset Strip’s visual power lies in its simplicity: the natural beauty of Ibiza’s west coast fused with music and community. Thousands of tourists still gather each evening to clap the sun below the horizon, keeping this ritual alive and endlessly photographed.





Las Dalias: The Heart of Ibiza’s Hippie Spirit

Las Dalias is a living piece of Ibiza’s countercultural soul. Founded as a bar in the 1950s and transformed into a hippie market in the 1980s, it quickly became a hub for creativity and free-spirited living.



By night, Las Dalias takes on an entirely different energy. The Namaste party, running since 1998, has become a weekly celebration of life, spirituality, and music. Its gardens are draped in neon fabrics and lanterns, while tribal drummers, fire performers, and live musicians turn the space into a psychedelic wonderland.

This Week’s Parties in Ibiza (August 28 - September 3)

Two decades ago, in the summer of 2005, Pacha Ibiza was already a living legend. While some of the island’s other clubs went bigger, louder, or stranger, Pacha thrived by being glamorous, musically credible, and endlessly versatile. Housed in a converted whitewashed farmhouse on the edge of Ibiza Town, with its cherries logo glowing above the door, the club was the ultimate blend of VIP sparkle and underground spirit. And that season’s line-up proved it: seven nights of heavyweight residencies, each night programmed like a festival in its own right.



Walking into Pacha in 2005 meant stepping into a maze of rooms: the main dancefloor with its low ceiling and central DJ booth; the Global Room hosting hip-hop and funk; the funky side rooms and rooftop terrace where partygoers caught their breath under the stars. What really set it apart, though, was the way the VIP balcony wrapped around the dancefloor. Celebrities and club-kids danced practically shoulder-to-shoulder, creating that unique Pacha energy: equal parts hedonism and high society.





So what did a week at Pacha look like in 2005? Let’s go day by day.


Monday - Release Yourself with Roger Sanchez

Kicking off the week, Mondays belonged to Roger Sanchez and his Release Yourself residency. The New Yorker’s soulful, vocal-driven sets made Mondays surprisingly popular with the island’s locals, who packed the floor week after week. Sanchez typically played marathon sets, mixing gospel-tinged house, funky basslines, and plenty of hands-in-the-air moments. It wasn’t a night loaded with guests or gimmicks - just Roger in command from start to finish - and that was exactly why people loved it.



Tuesday - Defected in the House

If Mondays were smooth and soulful, Tuesdays brought the funk in full force. Defected Records had just moved from the smaller El Divino to Pacha in 2005, and the upgrade fit perfectly. From June through September, Defected in the House transformed Tuesdays into a soulful house paradise. Residents included Junior Jack & Kid Crème, Sandy Rivera, Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez, Dimitri from Paris, and Martin Solveig. The guest list read like a who’s who of house royalty - Bob Sinclar, DJ Gregory, Chus, Miguel Migs, Danny Krivit, and more all stopped by. Throw in live performances from acts like Reel People and you had a night that felt both polished and organic, the perfect marriage of Pacha’s glamour and Defected’s house music heart.





Wednesday - Subliminal Sessions with Erick Morillo

By midweek, things got wild. Erick Morillo’s Subliminal Sessions were among the most notorious nights on the island, and 2005 was no exception. Morillo was joined by co-residents Seb Fontaine, Steve Angello, and Harry Romero, plus an endless parade of guests. Highlights included Timo Maas at the opening, Darren Emerson in July, and a back-to-back set from Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso that foreshadowed the rise of the Swedish House Mafia.



Subliminal was as much about the party as the music: champagne spraying, late-morning afterparties, and even cameos from P. Diddy, who jumped on the mic to hype the crowd. It was glamorous chaos in true Pacha style.





Thursday - Ministry, Yoshitoshi & F*** Me I’m Famous

Thursday was a mixed bag, and that was part of its charm. On alternating weeks, Pacha handed the reins to Ministry of Sound or Deep Dish’s Yoshitoshi label. Ministry nights featured eclectic line-ups with names like Groove Armada and breakbeat duo Evil Nine, while Yoshitoshi brought Deep Dish and their progressive house allies. Meanwhile, David and Cathy Guetta’s F*** Me I’m Famous was establishing itself as one of Pacha’s most in-demand nights, pulling in celebrities, models, and big-room house fans for unapologetically glamorous parties. Thursdays showed off Pacha’s versatility: one week underground credibility, the next week champagne-fuelled mayhem.



Friday - Pure Pacha with Pete Tong

Fridays belonged to Pete Tong, who hosted Pure Pacha, a night designed to blend classy music with a celebrity-studded vibe. The opening party alone featured Carl Cox, John Digweed, Wally López, and Nic Fanciulli alongside Tong - a line-up most clubs would kill to have over an entire season. Throughout the summer, guests like Sasha, Felix da Housecat, and live act Bodyrockers kept Fridays eclectic and stylish.



Tong also used the night to spotlight rising stars, with Spanish DJ Wally López appearing four times in support of his Perceptions of Pacha compilation. Pure Pacha perfectly embodied the club’s ethos: fashion, fun, and forward-thinking music all under one roof.





Saturday - Def Mix with David Morales

If there was ever a night for house music purists, it was Saturday. For years, David Morales had hosted the legendary Def Mix parties at Pacha, and 2005 continued the tradition. The opener featured Morales alongside Frankie Knuckles, a historic pairing of two house icons. Over the season, guests included Satoshi Tomiie, Danny Rampling, Pete Heller, and Hernán Cattáneo, all delivering soulful, uplifting sets. One standout night celebrated Morales’ birthday in August - a reminder that Def Mix felt less like a residency and more like a family gathering. Sunday - Everybody with Sander Kleinenberg

Sundays were always tricky in Ibiza, dominated by Space’s famous We Love marathon. But in 2005 Pacha made a bold play with Sander Kleinenberg’s Everybody residency. The Dutch DJ brought progressive and electro sounds, plus guests like Lee Burridge and Tom Stephan, aiming to lure serious clubbers who wanted something deeper than just another big-room blowout. Attendance could be hit-or-miss, but for those who went, Sundays were all about trippy visuals, long builds, and underground credibility in Pacha’s glamorous setting.



One-Off Highlights

On top of the weekly schedule, 2005 delivered some unforgettable one-offs. Danny Tenaglia played two marathon sets at Pacha, part of a series of Renaissance parties that season - a huge treat, since he rarely appeared on the island. Pacha’s own Flower Power nights also returned for a handful of dates, transforming the club into a psychedelic time machine of 60s and 70s classics. Meanwhile, the Global Room hosted live performances from Kelis and Dizzee Rascal, proof that Pacha wasn’t afraid to cross genres.

Step into a futuristic carnival this Friday 22 August, as David Guetta presents Galactic Circus returns to UNVRS, Ibiza’s colossal hyperclub, from 23:30 until the sun comes up.



UNVRS rose from the historic Privilege site in San Rafael and opened at the beginning of this summer season. This Week’s Parties in Ibiza (August 21 - 27)

Few places in the world wear their history as vividly as Ibiza. Over the past six decades, the island’s style has transformed from barefoot bohemian to glittering couture, yet it has never lost its soul. In the 1960s, free-spirited hippies in flowing cotton and handmade jewellery helped create a dress code rooted in freedom and self-expression. By the 1980s, Ibiza’s burgeoning club culture exploded into a riot of sequins, feathers, and neon. The 1990s brought rave energy and streetwear swagger, paving the way for the 2000s’ boho-luxe glamour and high-fashion VIP scene. Today, Ibiza blends all these influences into a kaleidoscope of looks - sustainable vintage, gender-fluid streetwear, and designer resortwear - all united by a single philosophy: dress how you like, but with style.





1960s - Bohemian Beginnings

In the 1960s, Ibiza became a magnet for hippies escaping political conservatism and seeking artistic freedom. The style was anti-establishment: men wore loose kaftans, Indian cotton shirts, or went shirtless; women embraced flowing skirts, peasant blouses, beads, and natural fabrics. Local Ibicenco elements - straw hats, espadrilles, embroidered shawls - blended with psychedelic prints and tie-dye. Public nudity and unisex fashion blurred gender lines, capturing a spirit of liberation immortalized in films like More (1969).







1970s - Flower Power & Adlib Fashion

By the 1980s, Ibiza was a global nightlife hotspot. Superclubs like Amnesia and Ku embraced extravagant themed nights. Women wore metallic mini-dresses, plunging jumpsuits, lingerie-inspired tops, and sometimes only body paint. Men rivaled them with drag ensembles, leather gear, spandex pants, or carnival costumes. Grace Jones’ performances epitomized this androgynous boldness. Leopard print, sequins, neon, and feathers ruled, while thong swimwear made its beach debut. Off the dancefloor, Balearic beat lovers sported tropical shirts and cut-off shorts, while Ibiza Town became a melting pot of punk, disco, and New Wave looks.

Daytime style shifted to boho-luxe: kaftans, maxi dresses, gladiator sandals, wide-brim hats, and designer swimwear. Andre Power has built a career on connecting people through music, art, and culture. As the creator of LINK UP, his global event series, he’s played in over 50 countries while giving a platform to emerging DJs and fostering spaces for genuine interaction. Since its debut in 2021, LINK UP has grown from a post-pandemic day party in Los Angeles into an international fixture, with editions in cities like London, Atlanta, and Chicago. Power keeps the vision personal—designing event artwork himself, handpicking diverse lineups, and tailoring each city’s edition to fill gaps in its nightlife. In this interview, he talks about what goes into curating LINK UP, why community matters in nightlife, and how he keeps the series feeling fresh as it grows.



When you’re curating a new LINK UP city, what’s the first thing you look for?


I always consider whether the city even needs another party. Even though everything about LINK UP is special and intentional, I never want it to feel like just another party in just another city. With LINK UP, and much of what I do, there’s always an aim and purpose—to fill a gap for what’s needed and missing.



What’s something behind the scenes at LINK UP that people don’t realize takes a lot of effort?


Each LINK UP features a diverse lineup of DJs, with a focus on taking the party through a journey by intentionally curating set times. I also make a point of giving newer DJs opportunities. For example, in Los Angeles, four years in, it’s rare that I book the same DJ twice.



What’s the last set you played that really stuck with you, and why?


The premiere of LINK UP was a special one, not only because it was the first international edition of the event, but also because London is my personal favorite city to DJ in. The audience there really understands and appreciates art and music unlike anywhere else I’ve been.



Is there a specific artist you’ve booked at LINK UP that you feel everyone should be watching right now?


Some of my favorite DJ sets at LINK UP, and artists who have since gone on to bigger things, include Anastazja from LA and DJ Mochi from Chicago.





How do you think your visual art background influences the way LINK UP looks and feels?


I think branding consistency and evolution are really important. I’ve put a lot of thought into designing the flyers for each event so they stay consistent but still evolve over time. I also make sure the flyer art connects to the actual event—for example, incorporating plants into both.



What gave you the idea to start this brand?


The idea for LINK UP came at the very end of the global pandemic. I noticed how much people wanted to be physically connected again after lockdown, while still feeling safe. It was during the last month or two of the mask mandate, when people were finally starting to feel comfortable gathering again.



How do you personally stay grounded with so much travel and output?


Travel and connecting with new people around the world actually keep me grounded and inspire my work. I’m constantly learning while on the road, and those experiences always shape my output in the best way.



What role do you think community really plays in the future of nightlife?


I believe nightlife is nothing without community. Events and promoters need to keep growing, elevating, and—most importantly—listening to what’s missing in nightlife and what people truly want.



What’s your pre-show ritual—or do you just wing it?


I don’t have much of a pre-show ritual. I just like to feel rested and make sure I’ve sorted my music for the upcoming set. If it’s a new city or anywhere outside of LA, I often arrive a day early to get a feel for the place, maybe by visiting a local bar, lounge, or party.



How did you come up with the name LINK UP?


I wanted something literal that flowed off the tongue, a phrase that was also an action—something that captured the reconnection of a community after the global pandemic.
