Doubleheader with Justin Martin & Eats Everything
Brooklyn, New York
Overview
On Friday, May 12, Justin Martin and Eats Everything team up for a very special Doubleheader event in The Room at Superior Ingredients in Brooklyn. The beloved house DJ/producers will each play solo sets, and then end the evening with a wild B2B set in the vibey, intimate space. What more could you ask for?
Justin Martin was born and raised in San Francisco, and brings that free-spirited, loving energy to everything he does. He was the first artist to release on Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird Records in 2005 with The Southern Draw EP. He remained an integral member of Dirtybird for over a decade, releasing a wide and eclectic range of house, tech house, and electro heaters, including "Don't Go," "Let Go," and "Beat That Bird," along with his critically-acclaimed sophomore album Hello Clouds.
He's since stepped out independently and focused his energies on his own What To Do imprint. He recently revisited his excellent 2012 debut album Ghettos & Gardens for its tenth anniversary with a fresh batch of remixes from DJ Minx, Mason Maynard, Daktyl, Claude VonStroke, and more. 2022 also saw the release of his deep and emotive Let's EP.
When Martin gets behind the decks, it's always a good time. His fun-loving and joyful energy is contagious, and his selections are always stellar for getting your groove on.
Bristol-born-and-based DJ/producer Eats Everything cut his teeth in his hometown's legendary club scene in the early '00s. In 2011, he dropped the entrancing, smooth, garage-y Entrance Song EP on Catz N Dogz's Pets Records. The global dance scene took notice, including Pete Tong, who invited him for an Essential Mix.
Eats is also no stranger to Dirtybird fans. He first linked up with them back in 2011. He and Martin released a string of collab tracks on the beloved tech house label in 2013 and 2014, including the Feather Fight EP and Hello Mr. Jello EP. They've also remixed each other's tracks and maintained a strong friendship and support of each other's tracks.
Eats Everything's first track of 2023 is a euphoric '90s house throwback, with soaring diva-style vocals from ShezAr, which followed his late-2022 collab with Fatboy Slim, "Bristol to Brighton." 2022 also saw him deliver a healthy serving of club-forward and disco-tinged remixes for Jessie Ware, Joe Goddard, Pete Tong, and more.
This jovial pair seem like brothers from across the pond, who don't take themselves seriously, love to have fun, spread joy behind the decks, and produce and play a wide range of dance music. Over the years, they've done B2Bs for Dirtybird parties and beyond, but it's been quite a few years since we've seen them behind the decks together.
We are thrilled for this lively house family reunion and hope you'll be there to get down and let loose with us!
