Event Recommendation

If you’re looking to delve into new musical territories this summer, look no further than London’s Junction 2 festival, the UK’s most prolific underground event and the hottest in its summertime calendar. Since its inception in 2016, no one could have predicted the impact that such a festival would have on festival-goers and artists alike. Seven years on, the renowned festival run by London’s most successful events company LWE, has morphed into what can only be described as one of the most sought-after events amongst avid underground lovers. The unique, open-air techno festival inside London's Boston Manor Park demonstrates LWE’s forward-thinking approach to production and the diverse locations to which they delegate their events. Junction 2's mainstage is notoriously set under one of London’s busiest motorway bridges, which is the pinnacle of the festival. This industrial apex is contrastingly surrounded by nature, where high-end production, united passion for electronic music, and creativity all come together under the realm of the talented producers behind LWE. The innovative phenomenon has more than doubled in size since its founding in 2016, having started as just one stage, and now diversified into multiple stages, which means more artists and more ravers can join the party. Taking place across two days, Friday July 21 and Saturday July 22, now is a good time to book that flight to the capital for a festival experience like no other. VENUE Amid a labyrinthine of greenery and meandering rivers, Junction 2 presents one of the most unique locations that other festivals simply do not offer. The stripped-back aesthetic of the main stage is the perfect accompaniment to the festival’s gritty, alternative, underground sound, whilst its other stages vary in aesthetics and sizes. From more intimate stages found nestled in the surrounding forestry, to an indoor stage within an enormous pop-up tent, to a completely al-fresco field stage where ravers in their thousand can accumulate to listen to the best DJs in house and techno perform live. LWE uses their production expertise to curate an experience so farfetched from the norm that it will awaken possibilities you never thought imaginable. On top of its pioneering stage design, LWE enhances the festival experience in 4K by implementing hi-tech lighting, quirky installations, and state-of-the-art sound systems, all culminating in making it one of the finest festivals to date. After mastering the throwing of parties in some of the capital’s most profound clubs and venues such as Tobacco Dock, Printworks, and Building Six, it’s safe to say that the LWE organizers really stepped into the next bracket of creativity when creating Junction 2. LINE UP So popular has Junction 2 become, what is now a two-day festival allows for the exploration of a more diverse variety of electronic music genres. This year more so than ever, J2 will delve into alternative house, electro, and minimal. Though the festival is originally known for its four-to-the-floor techno roots it has expanded its horizons, but remains true to its core musical DNA. This year the line-up is stacked with plenty of specially curated b2b sets and performances from both the expected and unexpected, ensuring something very special for the festival’s latest and most lavish edition yet. FRIDAY JULY 21 Friday July 21 boasts a varied bill that builds bridges between UK-focused strains of techno, bass, and house, featuring a number of highly anticipated b2b sets from the likes of Ben UFO b2b Helena Hauff, DJ Stingray 313 b2b Objekt and a one-off exclusive from Mall Grab b2b Skin On Skin, to name a few. The most notable performance of the day goes to the OG’s of the underground, UK dance music legends Underworld who are set for a rare, live show. Who remembers their 1996 hit track, Born Slippy? Imagine seeing this live... Plus sets from top-dogs Jeff Mills, Dixon, Or:la, Midland and many more. SATURDAY JULY 22 Saturday presents a more streamlined display of artists, with particular focus on the realms of modern techno, Romanian minimal, and deep tech-house. It also continues Friday's theme of collaboration, with a number of incredible b2b sets between some of electronic music's most prominent and respected DJs including Enzo Siragusa b2b Apollonia’s Dyed Soundroom, Praslesh (Praslea b2b Raresh), and an exclusive from female bosses of the underground sound, Sonja Moonear b2b Margaret Dygas. It doesn’t stop there - Jeff Mills, Cirez D (Eric Prydz), Adam Beyer, Charlotte de Witte, Nina Kraviz, Dax J and more, are all of course set to grace the booths of one of the many epic stages Junction 2 has on offer. So, what are you waiting for? Junction 2 is always a sell-out, as it once again demonstrates why it's a key weekend in the UK's electronic music calendar. Day/weekend deposit scheme and tickets are available to purchase here, so get cracking. You don’t want to miss out on this cutting-edge, all-consuming and eclectic festival that is programmed by some of the best event organizers in the game. Trust us on this one.
