Overview

Kick off your weekend right with a jolt of heavy techno energy courtesy of Stella Bossi! Presiding over the decks at Quantum on Friday, February 17, 2023, The Beat Must Fuck label owner brings her brand of bangin’ techno straight from her birthplace of Berlin for her New York City headlining debut.

Widely known for her hilarious social media antics, Bossi is equal parts performance artist, hard techno producer/DJ, and label owner. Her cool deadpan and dark sunglasses permanently glued to her face provide a stark contrast to her absurd rave-kid capers. Often soundtracked by her own brutal heavy techno beats, Stella has mastered walking the line between social media star and brilliant musician.

Stella emerged from the pandemic a certified techno star, and she’s quickly becoming a staple of the European club circuit. She’s dropped her relentlessly powerful techno beats across the continent from London to Malta and Barcelona to Istanbul. She’ll be wrapping up 2023 with appearances at the Kit Kat Club in Berlin, Fabrik in Madrid, and Amnesia, Ibiza for some off-season shenanigans.

Her label, The Beat Must Fuck—where she’s released all of her music— has taken a truly innovative approach to curation. She taps her virtual community to vote on which tracks should get released. Remarkably she's racked up some huge wins without the support of a large label. Heart-stopping bangers like "Das Boot," "Molly For Breakfast," and "Poetry" have had similar success to her videos earning her nearly 10 million combined streams across all platforms.

Stella has also combined her love of DJing and producing with philanthropic efforts and events. In just the past couple of years, she’s spun for Beatport Reconnect to help the people of Ukraine, the Rave to Save Cassiopeia Berlin for the dance music community, and Rave the Planet’s “FundRaving” Live.

Despite her massive online presence, Bossi remains a mystery partly due to only granting an interview on rare occasions. So if you want to get to know more about Bossi, she’ll let the music do the talking at Quantum, where proper sound surrounds the dancefloor. The Brooklyn hotspot has earned its place in the hearts of underground fans and DJs as a celebrated destination for house and techno lovers.

Rounding out the lineup for this night of pounding techno are Crossbow and Hiroko Yamamura. Crosssbow, while relatively new to the scene, has built an impressive body of work across labels like Codex Recordings, IAMT, and Set About. Not only has she supported a laundry list of techno's top talent, including Nakadia, Cera Khin, Brennan Grey, Eli Brown, and Ben Klock, her YouTube set for international streaming outlet Radio Intense has racked up tens of thousands of plays. Defined by rolling basslines, swirling synths, and dark-moving melodics Crossbow is an emerging talent with immense capabilities both in the studio and on stage.

Chicago native Hiroko Yamamura has established her own enduring legacy throughout the midwest and beyond. Blending a punk rock aesthetic with roots in goth and industrial, she's proven to be masterful at finding the intersection between groove, technology, and dark warehouse vibes. She's found a home on venerated imprints like HE.SHE.THEY and Planet E; remixed for legendary artists like Paul Johnson, DJ Heather, and Ladytron; and recently dropped a massive Boiler Room set—that tore the roof off of Slingshot Festival in North Carolina—which is quickly approaching 1M streams.
