Brooklyn, New York
Overview
Blue, Gray Area's dive into the diverse and enthralling depths of the melodic side of house and techno returns on August 20 with one of Europe's most sought-after technical talents, Hannes Bieger. The German-born artist will deliver a thrilling live set on The Roof at Superior Ingredients.
As one of dance music's most in-demand mixing and mastering engineers, Hannes was trusted to help mold the sonic footprint of some of the world's most highly vaunted artists, including Tale Of Us, Ben Klock, Adam Beyer, and Dixon.
After over a decade behind the boards, he condensed what he learned about the power of crafting the perfect record into a sound that, through soaring melody, throbbing bass, and deep powerful beats, captures the visceral feeling of a band manipulating the sound on the spot.
Moving beyond his days as a DJ in Berlin's thriving techno scene, his live sets expose his dynamic musical catalog's long musical arcs and slithering, sultry melodies. He's blessed dancefloors with his incredible creativity to clubs and festivals, from Ibiza's DC-10 for Carl Cox Presents to The Brooklyn Mirage.
Bieger has lived a multitude of musical lives. The Berlin-based producer, engineer, and analog synth expert has been a guitarist, rare grooves DJ, live performer, and one of the most lauded studio engineers in all of house and techno. Through it all, he's maintained a deep reverence for the philosophical impact of music and a love for how sound moves people.
At his core, he holds the spirit of a songwriter. Yet, his deep love for the warmth and raw power of analog synths and drum machines informs him. A true titan of techno, Bieger's releases on labels like John Digweed’s Bedrock, Poker Flat, and Carl Cox and Christopher Coe’s Awesome Soundwave are a true testament to his invaluable understanding of how dance music is most compelling.
Kevin Knapp is one of house musics greatest chameleons because of his coveted work with Jamie Jones’ renowned Hot Creations imprint, to Dirtybird, DFTD, Truesoul, and more. In 2023, Knapp performed for House Heads at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles and he will be performing at ARC Music Festival at the elrow stage in September. Recently, Knapp regularly performs alongside Desert Hearts cofounder Mikey Lion in Brooklyn and Vegas and released his track "Funky Enough" alongside Andreas Henneberg on DirtyBird.

Her innovative style has yielded chart-topping tracks like "Evolve", which hit #20 on the Melodic House and Techno chart, and "You Are", an impressive multi-genre success on Beatport.
