Westend w. special guest Iglesias & Mr.Diamond
New York, New York
Overview
New York-born and bred tech house maven Westend is back with the Gray Area fam on November 11th for another stunning headline show! This time the Beatport top-selling tech artist takes over the decks with Iglesias and Mr.Diamond at Musica, where the anonymity of a warehouse and the flair of the premium club experience converge in the heart of Manhattan.
After a feral Friday evening headlining The Roof of Superior Ingredients this last May, we knew we couldn’t wait too long for another set from one of our favorite hometown heroes. He has a proven ability to charge the dance floor with his music’s inescapable energy and diversity.
In 2023 alone, he’s dropped records that range from the emotional rapture of his Toolroom debut “Over” with Cami Bear and Maur to the dark rave energy of “Push To Start” with Noizu and No/Me. His catalog overflows with party-ready tech house bangers on highly-respected labels like Insomniac, Armada, and Defected sublabel D4 D4NCE. However, he’s recently had a string of hits like “Maracuya” and “Aguila” with Latin house icon HUGEL and Cumbiafrica that express a deeper, more worldly sound while still holding peak positions on the charts.
Opening the night off is Miami-based producer & DJ, Mr.Diamond, who has gained support from industry legends like Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, Chris Stussy, Toman, and Franky Rizardo, and boasts a catalog of quality releases on astounding labels like Michael Bibi and PAWSA's Solid Grooves, Damian Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels, The Martinez Brothers' Cuttin' Headz, and Seb Zito's Seven Dials.
Iglesias is a fresh, talented force taking the underground house scene by storm and will be directly supporting Westend. Based in London, he has quickly risen through the ranks, jumping an incredible 700 spots to solidify his place among the Top 100 best-selling Tech House artists of all time. He caught the attention of revered labels such as MadTech Records, Twisted Fusion, and Under No Illusion, eventually signing with Steve Lawler's renowned VIVa MUSiC. This early recognition opened doors for him, and he earned widespread praise from industry greats like Steve Lawler, Joseph Capriati, LEON, and Richie Hawtin, among others.
Westend is a man of many talents. His diverse set of originals, remixes, and collabs are found in the Rekordboxes of such luminaries as Diplo, MK, Gorgon City, Claude Von Stroke, Joel Corry, and more. His exclusive bootlegs, like his flip of Flume’s remix of “You & Me” by Disclosure, edit of The White Lotus theme song, and remix of Jimi Jules track “My City’s On Fire,” are viral sensations supported by the likes of The New York Times. And his Discord producer community, Kick & Bass, allows nearly 200 producers worldwide to improve their skills under his direction.
Musica is a fitting location for a rare hometown show from Westend. Blending the anonymity of a warehouse with the premium club experience, Musica’s industrial brick-walled design beams with LED screens and a state-of-the-art sound system
