Overview

The award-winning BPM Festival teleports its signature swagger to Camboriú, Brazil, for the inaugural three-day celebration beautifully coinciding with the cultural holiday of Carnival. From February 25-27, 2022, the coastal getaway of Balneário Camboriú in the state of Santa Catarina will overflow with global house and techno phenoms in the newly unveiled superclub named Surreal.

Derived from the same brain trust as the D-EDGE clubs in São Paulo, Surreal is an immersive entertainment park pushing the boundaries of reality and imagination.

Founded in 2008 in the tropical Caribbean paradise of Playa Del Carmen, The BPM Festival has been a retreat for music lovers. Their goal is to captivate the casual listener and the industry insider. The name BPM stands for Bartenders, Promoters, and Musicians. The festival emerged as a post-New Year gathering for industry professionals, a refuge from the hustle and bustle of tour life.

From the white sand and turquoise shores of the Yucatán Peninsula, The BPM Festival emitted sonic energy internationally to places such as Bali, Barcelona, Beirut, Costa Rica, Dubai, Ibiza, Mykonos, New York City, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Zurich, and Portimão.

BPM was created by four Toronto promoters (Craig Pettigrew, Philip Pulitano, Ralph Madi, and Vito Tomasicchio) who wanted to entwine music and dance in an exotic experience. By building its reputation in the festival community over the years, The BPM Festival has attracted thousands of fans worldwide.

Quality underground electronic music has been a key pillar in the vision of The BPM Festival. With potent lineups featuring some of the best DJs in the world. BPM's lineups span a plethora of colorful genres and subgenres. Wold-class DJs such as Jamie Jones, Skream, Kate Simko, Seth Troxler, Tokimonsta, Loco Dice, Pleasurekraft, Danny Tenaglia, and DJ Tennis conjured harmonic vibes to festival-goers over the years. And showcases from elrow, Knee Deep in Sound, Desert Hearts, Circoloco cater to a worldly audience.

Warm waters and good music serve as complementary treats to an exotic outing. Nestled on the city's outskirts, Surreal Park is an astonishing 92,000 square meter indoor and outdoor complex.

Renato Ratier of D-Edge takes each factor of the experience into account by being meticulous on every facet of the organization. As a result, surreal Park attracts and immerses a crowd into synesthesia encompassed in a sophisticated space.

The festival grounds offer ample car parking for those wishing to drive, multiple stages to explore, colorful places to snap a few pics for the gram, a circus-themed food court, and chill-out spaces in the Surreal Village to rest those dancing feet.

The return of destination festivals will stimulate the Brazilian local and regional economy, which was decimated due to the pandemic. Balneário Camboriú's hotels, restaurants, shops, and bars will be packed with the diverse international music community.

The BPM Festival's recent residency in Portugal opened the door for a new market with a rich language and culture. Crossing the Atlantic, the customs and holidays of the old world have combined with the new. This BPM will be a music festival within a cultural festival. When music and art combine in a harmonic setting, a plethora of ideas come to fruition. This overlap of sights, sounds, and emotions will influence future generations of enthusiasts.
