It’s time to close off the season with a bang!

The 2023 clubbing season in Ibiza is sadly drawing to a close, which means just one thing - closing parties are just around the corner.

This summer has certainly been one for the history books. We didn’t think the island could get any busier than it was last year, but 1,435,352 passengers used Ibiza Airport in July 2023, which is a 6.84% increase compared to July 2022 (1,343,450).

This only goes to prove that Ibiza is still the clubbing capital of the world, an epicenter where the world’s best DJs come to create a hedonistic paradise where international travelers can lose themselves in the music.

There’s nowhere in the world like it.

We all know that all good things must come to an end, so what better way to celebrate the end of another incredible summer on the White Isle than a calendar full of unforgettable parties to choose from?

What is a closing party?

Throughout the summer, brands and DJs take over the island’s clubs to host parties on a set day of the week. These residencies run through select dates, some starting as early as April and ending as late as October.

When the residency ends, each of these brands/DJs will have their own closing party to bid farewell to their fans in the best way possible. Then, following that, some of the clubs have their own closing party as well. That is a LOT of dancing to be done…but someone’s gotta do it!

Why does Ibiza have closing parties?

Other than a big fat “thank you” to the fans, Ibiza’s closing parties have always marked the end of summer and the start of a new season of clubbing around the world.

Events such as ADE plan their dates around the Ibiza summer, ensuring a seamless transition from one season to the next.

When are the closing parties in Ibiza?

You will find that most closing parties in 2023 are in the last 2 weeks of September and the first week in October. However, it is worth checking on a particular party if you have a favorite DJ as, for example, Eric Prydz’s HOLO closed on September 4 this year.

Some residencies are stretching themselves right to the end of October, getting the most out of Ibiza’s beautiful weather at that time of year. Trip at Club Chinois, for example, is having its closing party on Saturday, October 28 headlined by Apollonia.

Lots of hotels, beach clubs, bars, and restaurants stay open for the entire month of October, and a lot of the direct flight routes continue as well, which means that partying is very much on the agenda. Some say that it’s the best time of the year on the island, but we’ll leave that up to you to decide.

We’ve put together a list of the best closing parties in Ibiza, so let’s dive in:

Hï Ibiza

Though Eric Pyrdz presents HOLO on a Monday has already ended, there are still 6 residency closing parties to go at the world’s number one club as well as the overall club closing.

First up is FISHER on Wednesday, September 27. He’ll be joined in the Theatre by Chris Lake and Kitty Amor. Co-resident Vintage Culture is bringing Joseph Capriati to close the Club Room. Expect some serious energy.

Black Coffee closes off his summer on Saturday, September 30, with Keinemusik and Pablo Fierro in the Theatre. Crosstown Rebels creator Damian Lazarus will be joined by Chloé Caillet, Anthony Middleton, and Bartolomeo in the Club Room.

It’s a big weekend because Glitterbox is bringing a mammoth lineup for their closing party on Sunday, October 1. From Groove Armada to The Shapeshifters, John Morales to Melvo Baptiste and more, one final party under the disco balls is calling your name.

On Tuesday, October 3, The Martinez Brothers will play the closing set of their 2nd season at Hï Ibiza. Looking after the Club Room for the last time, Spanish techno stalwart Paco Osuna will be joined by a special guest who is yet to be announced.

Afterlife, led by Italian duo Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri, known professionally as Tale of Us, take over both Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza with a day-to-night grand finale on Thursday, October 5. If last year was anything to go by, you don’t want to miss out.

Finally, Hï and Ushuaïa’s epic closing party ‘The Vortex’ is taking place on Saturday, October 7. It features a whole host of 2023 residency headliners across both venues, including The Martinez Brothers and Adam Beyer, plus some extra special guests such as Seth Troxler and Melon Bomb.

Ushuaïa Ibiza

Since 2011, Playa d’en Bossa has been blessed with an outdoor party venue like no other. From hosting incredible small-series and one-off events such as elrow Outdoors and Swedish House Mafia to weekly residencies stretching the entire summer season, you can see why it was voted the 5th best club in the world in the DJMag poll.

The Saturday staple, ANTS, closes its doors on Saturday, September 30, with no less than 3 B2B sets to enjoy. Chelina Manuhutu will be playing alongside Syreeta, Nic Fanciulli will be going toe-to-toe with Eddy M and Andrea Oliva will be playing B2B with Paco Osuna.

Not only that but there will be solo sets from Oden & Fatzo (live) and Fleur Shore, as well as Ushuaïa’s resident DJ, Raul Rodriguez.

The Vortex will see Skepta, Peggy Gou, Kilimanjaro, Bicep, and ANOTR light up the Ushuaïa stage before the party continues over at Hï Ibiza.

Amnesia Ibiza

This iconic club has always held the torch for the best (and often longest) opening and closing fiestas of the summer. It’s a real experience to feel the warm sun bursting through the windows on the Terrace after a long night of partying with some of the world’s best DJs.

Before Amnesia’s official closing party, Amnesia Presents with Danny Howard, Sonny Fodera, and Gorgon City will have its last installment on Monday, September 25.

In the same week, Barcelona-born elrow is closing its Ibiza summer season with a brand new theme Dance With The Serpent. Adam Beyer, Bastian Bux, Joris Voorn, Sarah Story, and Toni Varga will be bringing the tech-house vibes alongside the crazy elrow performers.

Amnesia’s home-grown party, Pyramid, closes on Sunday, October 8 (one week after a special event with The Chemical Brothers). Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano will be playing a B2B set on the closing night, so this is sure to be a roadblock event.

2023 comes to an end for Amnesia Ibiza on Saturday, October 14. Their closing party roster isn’t 100% complete but with Nina Kraviz, Charlotte de Witte, Deborah de Luca, Jamie Jones, and Joseph Capriati in the first wave of announcements, we already chomping at the bit to get on the dance floor.

Pacha Ibiza

The island’s oldest super club has been celebrating its 50-year anniversary in 2023, which saw a special double-header event at Destino and Pacha back on August 2 with Solomun and Marco Carola.

The closing parties for 2023 are spread over 2 weeks in October, the first being Camelphat on Tuesday, October 3. This season has been the Liverpudlian duo’s first at Pacha, after moving over from Ushuaïa, and it has been an absolute success across the entire 20-date residency. They’ll be joined by Stephan Bodzin (live) and Mita Gami for their closing party.

Bedouin close their midweek Saga series on Wednesday, October 3 joined by WhoMadeWho (who were also on the opening party lineup) as well as Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté. Fun fact: Guy Laliberté was the co-owner of Heart (now Club Chinois) and hand-picked Bedouin for their residency there from 2017-2019.

Skipping over October 13, Marco Carola’s Music On will be hosting a day-to-night session, starting at Destino from 5pm before the doors to Pacha open at midnight. Paco Osuna and Cloonee join the lineup for what is always one of the most monumental closing parties of the summer.

Solomun’s +1 has been a Sunday staple at Pacha since 2013. The Diynamic label boss has kept the concept simple, with him and one special guest playing extended sets before going B2B for the climax of the night. For the finale, Dixon is the guest of choice.

DC-10 Ibiza

The old hangar at the bottom of Ibiza’s airport runway has been host to 3 residencies this summer; Amelie Lens’ EXHALE, Solid Grooves, and Circoloco. A must-do for any true raver, DC-10’s no-fuss, no-frills parties bring the best names in house and techno to the White Isle year after year.

EXHALE comes to a close after its 8-week run on Wednesday, September 13, with Amelie Lens joined by some of the industry’s biggest names including Ben Klock, Kobosil, Marcel Dettmann, and more.

Solid Grooves Motel was rocked at the beginning of the season with the announcement that Michael Bibi would not be able to join the lineups for the summer. However, that did not deter the fans from showing up each and every Thursday for a stomping session at DC-10. The Solid Grooves season closes on September 28.

Whether you’re ending or starting your week with Circoloco at DC-10, you’ve made a good choice. 24 epic weeks come to a close on Monday, October 9 with 24 DJs primed and ready for an all-nighter kicking off at 6pm.

Club Chinois

Now coming to the end of its 2nd year, Club Chinois (formerly Heart) has proven that it’s most definitely not a one-season pony and it’s here to stay. The decadent club in Marina Botafoch has completed a summer full of daily parties, with the first - Mystik by Ida Engberg - closing on Tuesday, September 26.

Pablo Fierro’s We’re Here gives you one last chance to dance on Friday, September 29. He’ll be bringing Tony Touch and Raoul K to the party. The following Sunday - October 1 - is when Franky Wah will be taking to the decks all night long to close off his first Ibiza residency, SHÉN.

And don’t forget TRIP closing on Saturday, October 28. There’s a huge pull to Ibiza at the end of October for Halloween events, so this fits perfectly for a long weekend.

Cova Santa

Ibiza-based party, WooMooN started a few years ago at the stunning Cova Santa, which is owned by Amnesia. This unique event brings together diverse music, live performances, art, and nature to create a one-of-a-kind experience. WooMooN closing coincides with Cova Santa’s last day of opening on Sunday, October 8.

528 Ibiza

El Cielo by Pacha was a new concept for 2023 that transformed the empty Benimussa Park (the former home to Zoo Project) into a multi-purpose music and performance venue, in conjunction with Pacha’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Not only did the El Cielo series of events prove popular throughout the summer, but 528 Ibiza was also used to host Radio 1 Dance Live.

El Cielo closing is taking place on Wednesday, September 27, with Amsterdam-based duo ANOTR and their label No Art. After entertaining crowds at different venues throughout the summer, including an epic three-way performance with Joseph Capriati and Seth Troxler at the Metamorfosi closing party, this time it's all about them as they venture into the hills.

Eden Ibiza

One of the island’s most accessible parties, Defected at Eden, is going all out for their closing on Friday, September 29. Low Steppa, Hannah Wants, Darius Syrossian, Monki, and Sam Divine will be pumping out the very best in house music to what we can guarantee will be a packed dance floor.

Make sure to check the Ibiza events calendar to stay up to date with when all the best closing parties are.
